Give me a break Elder. KH knew full well what would happen if the resolution passed. They had been threatening to leave for years. Believe me, he counted the cost, and decided it was worth it.
It is folly to believe that no one knew there would be a tiny split. I really see no major impact on the UPC.
I don't think he really believes a split was inevitable. I'm sure he knew it would stir them up, as it had in times past. Maybe another conference. Maybe some more "forums", but not leaving the mother ship.

Are you saying he lacked judgement? Was this a leadership error on his part? Did he overstep?

I have to agree on Elder Epley on this one.
I'll let you and God decide on that one. I don't know what I would have done. He did what he thought was best, and as a human, could have turned out in the big picture to be a mistake. Or, it could, in the long run, give both camps what they want. We'll see.
Yes I have and it is still in existance thank you very much. I don't know how many left and don't care HOWEVER high profile men left and their churches.
and has it hurt or hindered the UPC at all? nope.
interestingly enough offerings haven't gone down either....hmmm.
Most often to keep myself in perspective and to keep myself off of my high horse, I try to bear in mind what they have accomplished in their lives vs. what I have yet to accomplish.
Exactly. And God is not through with anyone who still has breath in thier lungs just yet.
