I have several cute denim skirts in a variety of lentghs. I love them!! I have one that looks like it was made from a pair of jeans and it's all frayed at the bottom; very Bohemian. I remember when I was in Bible college, girls used to take jeans and make them just like this. I also have several pair of blue jeans, so I don't wear the skirts because I have no other option. I think they're just really cute!
However, I DO NOT wear them with tennis shoes and bobby socks!
It appears we may share the same closet.
I have numerous denim skirts, and as we "speak" I have one on that is identical to what you described.
I am wearing a black swing jacket with it, and black leather shoes, with 3 inch heels.
I do not wear denim skirts every day. (although I would if I so desired)
I have seen them worn with tennis shoes and socks.
I don't have a problem with that, but I just prefer a few extra inches...it seems that I am quickly becoming the shortest person in our house.
Good, because I've seen WAY too many Apostolic women at Walmart giving denim skirts a bad name because of the way they "accessorize". You can still look very attractive in a denim skirt!
And if we're going to keep it fair, I've seen plenty of non-Apostolic woman who weren't accessorized properly as well.

I prefer my heeled boots this time of year. Love them!

Years ago I wanted so hard to fit in with the "denim and tennis shoe look with matching blouse and socks" ...I tried to make myself wear those little Keds tennis shoes and socks to match my blouse along with a denim skirt.
I went to WalMart one time like that and felt as though everyone was staring at me. I felt stupid and I wouldn't try to make myself fit in like that again. I've never worn those colored socks except to sleep in 'em...The Keds tennis shoes are still almost like new. The denim skirt is now a size or two too small.
