We had a real jerk who owned and ran our local funeral home for many, many years here. No one could stand him and he eventually had to sell because his business was going downhill so badly.

One of the things he did that irritated people to no end was - he did this at my uncles funeral - about 5-10 minutes before the scheduled time for the funeral service to begin, he would look around the room and then go up to the nearest relative and say, "It looks like everyone's here. How about if we get started early today?"

HELLO???????? How would HE know that everyone was there!!!!!!!!! Please tell me that Dan would never pull a stunt like that!

That is why I initially said it's a discipline issue. Being on time is something you practice over and over and over. Same with prayer...daily prayer is discipline.
and I agree with you. It is a discipline problem. My problem is cutting time too close and not making room for "things" to happen.... and believe me, life happens.

I'm the one responsible for our company having "flex" time.. now, I can start work anywhere from 7-9 a.m... it was the best thing for me. I just discipline myself to be there every morning by 9 a.m. Now something major has to happen to me before I am late anymore. I shoot for 8:15 and it gives me 45 min to mess with.

As far as church... I drive 55 miles and it takes me an hour... so other than Sunday service where I am involved in music practice before church... I am not late to Sunday service. Practice I am, but I work on it.

I mean as long as we show up whats the problem. We're giving. we're involved.

At work I jump in (when I get there) and do my job.

15 min. maybe a 1/2 hr shouldn't be that big of a deal right?
Yes!!! I am very punctual and I can't stand people that are late!!! Ooops, my daughter is always late for everything!!! She will probably show up at the hospital and the baby will get there first.

Can't STAND to be late!! I would rather be an hour early than five minutes late. Even if I wanted to be late, Eddie would never put up with it. He thinks it's exterme arrogance to be consistently late - saying you are more important than whatever is going on.

Oh my stars!! My brothers and me, for the most part, are extremely punctual...my niece says we get it from our dad.

Growing up, we were always the first to church and almost the last to leave.

I am at work at 4:15am everyday...my shift starts at 5am...can't help it!!

If we plan to meet at a certain time, you can count on my being there early...just can't help it!!
