But while on the whole, oneness pentecostalism is a dying movement, one piece of good evolution is reflected on this board in that apostolics like you and Dan Alicea have different political perspectives than most apostolics who poll-parrot the political right wing.

I mean there are Baptists and Catholics that run the political gamut from liberal to conservative, republican to democrat so why not apostolics if the movement is truly diverse and viable?

I am rather amused and a little disgusted at this nonsense that Ferd, CC1 and a few others propagate that the Republican party is "God's Party" and one could not be a Democrat and be a christian.

Now, I have plenty of disgust these days for both major parties and many minor ones. I tend to pretty much ignore politics because most all politicians are full of bull manure and say what is needed to get elected.

But: the republicans are once again the party of the rich elitists who constantly con right-wing working-class religious people (many on this board) to constantly vote republican by using scare tactics such as the gays are going to invade their bedroom and force them into an orgy or something.

That's one of the biggest pieces of nonsense propagated on this board - the notion that the Republicans are "God's Party."

So Tstew, were I an apostolic, I'd consider it a sign of maturity in my movement that you, Dan and others show that even apostolics can be diverse politically.
LOL!! I don't think the Republican party is "God's party" but I do think it's values are much more in line with Christian morality and values than the Democrats. That is just simple logic.

If the roles ever reverse and the Democrat party becomes the party that is anti-abortion, anti gay marriage, stops it's attempts to muzzle churches, starts believing in a strict interpretation of the constitution by Federal judges, stops being pacifists, etc, etc then I will become a Democrat!

In the meantime through a very measured logical assessment I proudly support the Republican party and reject the Democrat party.

They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Esther, that is still not the crux of the issue. Nobody is saying that the trooper was stellar. He was punished by his superiors in what they say was in keeping with their normal policies. The issue is whether she fired the Director because of her BIL and whether she lied later about being involved. It's kind of like Clinton being charged not with an offense, but lying about an offense.

Re: Palin Investigation Tainted

The odd thing about this to me is that it is within the perview of the gov. to fire the person she fired. (or that of the mayor for the earlier firing).

According to the law, she doesnt even have to provide a reason for the firing. Period.

This is much the same with the 8 US Attorney General lawyers that were fired by the Bush adminstration.

the notion that there is something to investagte baffels me. there simply is nothing to investagate. So she fired the guy.

big deal.

She certainly didnt get what she wanted which was this terrible trooper fired from his job... which is what they suggest she was after.

I just dont get it.

My son's friend that is assigned to Todd Palin (SS) called him today and said Todd's been a pleasure to be around. He's been everwhere with them since last week.

NEWS FLASH
I'm sorry but the judge on Fox news disagrees with you. She does not have the authority to fire government employees who do things on their own time. He just said I am afraid the out come of this investigation will not be one that the McCain camp will like.

I think that you have to read more about these issues. Apparently the illegal shooting of the moose was a situation when he and his wife were out together during legal hunting, but the permit was in his wife's name. She didn't want to shoot and actually gave him the gun.

The Taser incident seems a bit different than what you would think as well when you read the particulars.

I've read that Palin's family has made numerous allegations against the BIL that were never substantiated....to the extent that the judge in the divorce case basically said they were harrassing.

that is an interesting observation. While I disagree with the notion that the Gov. did anything wrong here, I suspect considering who is doing the investagation, you and the judge are right that the McCain camp wont like the outcome.

we shall see wont we?

My understanding is she fired the guy because of not playing team ball with the gov. on offical business. which would be a reason to fire the guy.

but as Stew said, this is alll quite fluid.

honestly Light, we dont agree and that is fine. simply put, I dont want Barak Obama because of what he believes politically. I do want McCain because he is much more close to me than Obama.

it really is that simple.
