I believe I saw an angel. I was very young but I still believe I saw one. I do not know if he was sent to just comfort me for that moment in time or if he has been with me through my entire life but I have had great comfort in knowing that I saw him.
I have felt like someone is with me at times and no one is really there. Maybe that is me feeling his presence to give me peace and comfort in situations.

After I posted this I thought about it and wanted to say something more. I was very young when this happened. I was awake by myself in the house and very scared. My parents were out of town and my big sister was in charge. I was downstairs in the dining room and sitting scared stiff at the table. I looked up and outside our old farm house up on the hill behind the barn, that later was converted into the church, stood the most beautiful sight. He was young and old all at the same time. He was tall and thin, but very powerful looking. He had hair that came way down and a beard. It was snowy white. He glowed like a star. Hia robe was white like his hair and beard. As far away as he was yet I could see everything about him. It was amazing. While I sat watching him watch me and smiling at me I felt calm and unafraid of anything. When my sister finally woke up and came into the dining room I told her to come look and when I turned back he was gone.

I also believe that I was visited by demons to try and get me to give them charge over my children. That was a night I will never forget and a feeling that I never want to have again. Although, the spirit that came over me when they asked me for them was one very awesome and powerful spirit and boy did it send those demons running.
I was also given horrible dreams by spirits trying to scare me and cause me to doubt God. That did not work either.

I am not much for the spooky spiritual stuff, but I am a firm believer in angels among us. As to them being specifically assigned to us and having names and caring on daily communication with us, well, I don't see anything that scripturally supports that.

That being said, I think that people who have been through or live with great need are more acutely aware of these things, probably because they spend more time in the spirit realm, (intercessory prayer) out of necessity.

My great grandparents had several stories of encounters with angels in hours of great need, and I know that when my brother was fighting death as a teenager, my family had several very intense experiences with both sides of the spirit realm.

Twice Bob Jones asked me about this angel that was in Kansas City in 1980: “Todd, have you ever seen the angel by the name of Emma?” He asked me as if he expected that this angel was appearing to me. Emma appeared beautiful and young-about 22 years old-but she was old at the same time. She seemed to carry the wisdom, virtue and grace of Proverbs 31 on her life.

She glided into the room, emitting brilliant light and colors. Emma carried these bags and began pulling gold out of them. Then, as she walked up and down the aisles of the church, she began putting gold dust on people. “God, what is happening?” I asked. The Lord answered: “She is releasing the gold, which is both the revelation and the financial breakthrough that I am bringing into this church. I want you to prophecy that Emma showed up in this service-the same angel that appeared in Kansas city-as a sign that I am endorsing and releasing a prophetic spirit in the church.” See, when angels come, they always come for a reason; we need to actually ask God what the purpose is. Within three weeks of that visitation, the church had given me the biggest offering I had ever received to that point in my ministry. Thousands of dollars! Thousands! Even though the entire community consisted of only three thousand people, weeks after I left the church the pastor testified that the church offerings had either doubled or tripled.

During this visitation the pastor’s wife (it was an AOG church) got totally whacked by the Holy Ghost- she began running around barking like a dog or squawking like a chicken as a powerful prophetic spirit came on her. Also, as this prophetic anointing came on her, she started getting phone numbers of complete strangers and calling them up on the telephone and prophesying over them. She would tell them that God gave her their telephone number and then would give them words of knowledge. Complete strangers. Then angels started showing up in the church.”

BENTLEY'S LINK TO BRANHAM



Bentley claims that his angel also assisted William Branham in his healing ministry in the 1960s. In fact, Branham always claimed that he could do no healings until his angel showed up. Bentley refers to his angel as "the angel of the Lord" and also waits upon Emma for the signs and wonders to manifest. However, according to Bible scholars, the term "the angel of the Lord" is an Old Testament reference to the pre-incarnate Christ, also called a Theophany. It seems that Emma is really overstepping her bounds to be referred to as "the angel of the Lord."

Not that I don't believe we have a personal angel or an angel that maybe looks out for us...nor am I confirming it either, but when you said Todd has one named Emma the first thing I thought of was these New Agers and psychics that claim to have spirit guides and they can name them
