I was talking about UPC woman in all of the instances listed. Some genuniely love their long uncut hair and would have it that way regardless of the religous admonition to have it.
However I believe a significant percentage have it for the other reasons I gave and if they ever got beyond the psychological conditoning that cutting it was sending them to hell many would (as evidenced by what happens most of the time when a UPC preacher leaves the ark and goes lib - the wives usually don't take long to cut their hair).
