.
I was reading a columnist advising people to use their "rebate money" to pay off any additional loans or credit card debt. I think that would be wise.

BUT when you talk about stock piling food, it indicates something else that many of us are just weary of. This notion that there is some kind of catistrophic event on the horizon.

I have a 3 to 4 day supply of Water and basic needs generally at home all the time. it is prudent. bad storms, terrorest attacks, other events can lead to the need for them.

but stockpiling for armageddon? I wonder how prudent that is? it is expensive, and you have to replace that stuff every so often because most of it will not keep. plus you have to have storage room.
I think you are reading something that I haven't written Bro.

Who mentioned Armageddon?

However, what do you think of the probability of further terrorist attacks in the USA?

I am just saying that we are buying some extra nonperishables.

So far I haven't moved to the mountains, grown a beard, planted a ten acre garden, stockpiled munitions, cut down a forest of firewood or any other such nonsense.

we were somewhere in Colorado at an IHOP. it turned 2000 we all looked up from our food, noticed the lights were still on, cash register was still running....

went back to eating.

Later we went to sleep, the next day we went skiing again. then went home.

it was a nice trip.

Tell her to start tithing 10% of it.

AE, when you say "backstocking food" people have a natural reaction. I think a bunch of people have reacted that way to your comments.

if you are talking about 3 or 4 days of emergency supplies, then that is prudent. I think everyone should have that pretty much all the time.

but I grew up in Louisiana where we got hurricanes from time to time...

As far as the terrorists? Look this is real simple math. They hate us. they want the world to be under their power. they want to convert or kill EVERYBODY. They prefer KILLING EVERYBODY to converting them.

They have not all been killed.

The US Government has to be right 100% of the time. the terrorists have to be right once.

Do I think we will be hit? you bet.
