I'll tell you this........

After having to go to work after 30 years of being a stay at home mom and all my work having been church and ministry related, I well understand what it's like to come home after being on my feet for 8 hours, preparing supper and then having to go to service. There are times when it's like ...... *groan* ...... I just want to put my feet up and relax.

I couldn't relate to that very well before I started working, but I certainly can now.

I also know of many women in churches we've pastored who have worked full time. They've also taken care of their homes, their families and their husbands and did a cracker-jack job of doing that.

They also were in church almost every time there was a service and they also opened up their home to the pastor and saints OFTEN and exercised the gift of hospitality.

I have nothing but the utmost respect for these women. My hat is off to them. They are awesome and their reward in heaven will be great!!

Not to mention you can sleep in the next morning or go to house early if you need too.

Lord have pity of those you pastor with that kind of attitude........

Do the test everyone on this forum.

See how many consecutive services you hear about money, sowing, need etc.

Oh, The church needs the gifts of the spirit, and other things.

But money stays at the front.
Not at my church. Money is rarely mentioned. In fact, I think my pastor has taught about tithing once since I've been attending (over 2 years).

And to the topic at hand, one might not have sick days at work, and need to stay home from church so they can rest and go back to work the next day. God looks on the heart and knows someone's true motivation in missing service.

This was always a struggle for me too when we were in the ministry and I worked a 40 hour job outside the home too.

My own husband couldn't understand it sometimes - - he had every Monday off and played golf a couple of times during the week too. One night I asked if I could stay home from a personal bible study with a couple just so I could get the wash done and he about lost it.................he never got it.
