his point was not to try to push your kids the other way just because YOU know of the hardships
... which is easy to do. Bro H's son is doing well in the ministry... he's been on several missions trips that I know of, although I'm not sure where he is presently.
WAIT.. have I even got the right man in mind here???

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

I can totally see Bro H's sister in law weeping over this. She's got a tender heart!
Yes.. that makes sense.. I thought you were referring to Bro H's sister (in law)... and now I'm wondering if I've even got the right preacher in mind. I don't think I do...

And remark itself I agree. A preacher cannot call his son but I am sure they are happy if the Lord does place them in the ministry.
I fail to see a higher value placed on a child of God because they are obediant in whatever their calling is.
Of course - I believe I was called to be a chimney sweep for the Lord.
My pastor would be as much out of God's will sweeping chimneys as I would be behind the pulpit... IMHO

I heard about a preacher who took his infant son to church soon after birth and introduced him as the next pastor of the church.
That is perverted.

I hope those kids don't feel guilty in the future if God does not call them into full time ministry. I hope they don't feel like they have disappointed their parents. I would be very proud if my kids end up in full time ministry, but I will be just as proud of them if they are in the business world if they are living for God and fulfilling His purpose in their lives.
I think God calls some to be Kings (business world) and some to be Priests (full time ministry). We could not survive as a church without either one.
What she said.

The statement was made several times in the message. At first, I thought no...he didn't say that and hoped he didn't mean it as it sounded, but it was repeated time and again.
Having a son, it would be wonderful for him to follow, but that is not up to me. God has to call and qualify.
It was an incredible message regardless. The spirit of what he said I understand. I just don't agree in going to that extreme of saying that child would be a waste. JMO
