So when is a pastor too controlling? What are the warning signs? When is it more than just a pastor wanting the saints to be saved? I mean, somethings I've heard preach were not "thus saith the Lord" but merely-that is going to take you down a road you don't need to be on..... When and where is the line crossed... ???? lots of questions....so little time... this kinda of stuff like JimJones is just beyond belief, howbeit sooooooooooooo true. Weird in my opinion... But it starts with small things.....

knowing the truth and loving the truth are two different things...many in the last days will hold truth in unrighteousness...God sends those strong delusion so that they will believe a lie and be damned because they received not the love of the truth...

yes, it is sad

The late Elder Cavaness told me he visited his church in Indy once they called him 'lover-boy' Jones around town because he hugged on the women and I guess did more than that. However for a season he did baptize in Jesus Name. But went more for the sensational 'healing type' meetings.

I know churches where the leaders THINK they are JESUS in the flesh and their members are too scared to leave.

What makes a man go to such extremes? I had heard he was oneness at one time. I was wondering of anyone here on this forum personally knew him and what led to his great downfall?
In case anyone is interested, there is a PBS documentary on this subject tonight at 9 pm...
