I send my kindergarten son to a Pentecostal private school which costs a hard $5,000, so this bonus is earmarked to cover the tuition!

Thank you, Lord!

We get a bonus at Christmas, and they also provide health insurance. I don't know of very many churches that provide as well for it's employees.
And before anyone that knows me says that it is because I am family, there are three of us secretaries and I am the only one related to the pastor.

I don't make a whole lot, but I never did anyways as a secretary, and the benefits they provide are better than most other places that I have worked. Also, the environment is much better!
WHAAAAAAAT?!? Is it UPC?

Back in the '90s I worked for a church....after living in poverty, I said I'd never work for another church.

*sigh* But here I am again...no insurance, no Christmas bonus.... and I took a $12,000 pay cut.

But, hey, it's all about the ministry, right?

I work for a large Corp with about 70,000 employees worldwide. We have great benefits but zero Christmas bonus.

The location I work for gives out a $25 Walmart / Sam Club gift card and has a Christmas dinner at a local restaurant.

I worked for a company for five years and each year our bonus was 2 lotery tickets. Out of 10 tickets total not one was a winner, not even another free lottery ticket out of the deal. Don't even ask me if I would have kept the money if there had been a winner..... I am not stupid lol and I would have happily tithed and offering'd on it as well.
Back in NH, it was a common thing for those not in church to give a lottery ticket as a gift. I never quite understood it. Seemed quite tacky to me. Never did I recieve a winner. Am I bitter? I guess I might be perceived to be but really I am not.
