Get out... A large portion of non Catholics practice a form of baptismal regeneration. They might even be saved in spite of it.

Rosary beads.

By the way... I hate the taste of alcohol in wine, and so does most of my church, so we do the grape juice thing...

Just in case someone wanted to lob a grenade about being a bunch of lushes over in this direction...

I do cook with it occasionally though. Adds a richness to dishes after most of the alkihawl is cooked out.

Didn't the early church use Passover wine for the ordinance of communion?
But we really have fellowship with Christ spiritually by or through the Holy Ghost.

I cannot, as an honest minister of the gospel, standing on the plain words of the Bible, prohibit the consumption of wine. In all actuality, I can prohibit it with MY words, but not with God's words.

Everyone has a right and a duty to follow their own convictions. But we cannot preach our convictions as God's word. It is a VERY dangerous thing to mess with God's word.
Folks, we have a winner ratchere... (For you who don't understand Redneckese, thats 'Right here".) Besides, if Paul rebuked the use of wine at Communion, wouldn't that make him a little hypocritical? He advised Timothy in 1Ti 5:23 to: Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities. Not only did he not forbid its use, but he actually encouraged its use. I have never found anu Bible that expressly forbids the consumption of wine, but plenty to forbid its abuse!

So MOW, once again, you've rode into town with a voice of reason and something in short supply these days... COMMON SENSE.

SH,

I just think you are trying to prove to your wife that alcohol is okay because you think it's the only way that cradle is going to get filled!!!

Where is NLYP? He is the resident expert on medicating Drama Queen with wine. Wonder if he joins her? MOW, be careful what you give license for, approx. 25% of the population is predisposed to alcoholism.
