I think it's an organization's responsibility to put as much of a positive spin to bad news as possible without lying or stretching the truth. To totally avoid the elephant in the room is a big mistake.

1. Face the issue
2. Handle the issue
3. Move on!

Is it not possible for those who feel to "check out of that system" to stay and make changes from within?!

For those who may leave, what voice will they have when they are no longer affiliated?!

Respectfully asked...
Poster Pastor is suffering withdrawal, I experienced that over 25 years ago, if one follows the leading of God in their lives, there is life after the UPC. There is life in the UPC as well, one must follow the Lord in spite of their location.
Your past does not determine your future, unless you give your past permission to keep you in bondage from your future.

I am not in withdrawal.

It just gets old.

I am very glad I am moving away from the epicenter of it all.

I feel so much better.

That's much better, now move on.

Not from AFF, just from the distractions of the past. You have too much living in front of your to wallow in what you have left.

And yet you've been noticably cranky and downcast. You started 2 threads yesterday just for UPC bashing before giving us the one on "Your favorite Christmas Memory."

I like the PastorPoster drinking hot chocolate in his pj's and opening presents on Christmas morning a whole lot more that the PP waving a torch inciting a mob to storm the castle on Dunn Rd.

Sure, the mad doctor has a monster in there. But the monster likes flowers and kittens, just like in the Boris Karloff movie.

Wow - hope you guys got a good deal on the truckload of tinfoil you're stringing around to keep the aliens at bay!!!!
This would be laughable if there weren't some innocent people who may be taken in by the stupidity of it.
The simple fact is that the divisional leaders are doing what they are supposed to be doing - not pouring gas on the fire but urging those under their influence to remain calm. That's not a conspiracy, that is being responsible!
Is it true that there have been only 15 credentials received at HQ? My guess would be yes. Is that all that have left or are in the process of leaving - certainly not. The job of divisional executives is not to indulge in speculation like anonymous internet stonethrowers.
The truth is, nobody knows what the fallout is going to be.
