Predictable.

There are a few dozen pages here of people bellyaching about Eddie Long not denying the charges. So he does and what do you do? Bellyache some more. Nothing is ever good enough for some people. I get the impression some of you desperately want him to be guilty.

Re: Charismatic Bishop In Lawsuit.

I sincerely hope Bishop Long is innocent of the charges.
I think people become jaded about these situations, because many times the charges are found to be true, even after a denial.
Again, I sincerely hope he is innocent!!

Just get your "but" out of the way and let God's grace be as big as we all need it to be!!
Amen and amen!!! I always wondered why people do that as well. It seems "salvation by works" spirits cause people to shy away from GRACE and dislike emphasis upon GRACE like it's something too sappy for them. GRACE is what it is all about!

While it is true that many have abused grace and lived in disgrace, it should not be our manner to show aversion to the concept of grace, itself, but saying, "Grace, but..." all the time.

Re: Charismatic Bishop In Lawsuit.

The sad thing is guilty or innocent of charges if they settle out of court, there will always be doubts of his innocence or guilt.

When he traveled with these young men were there others with them?

Settle out of court? If he is innocent, what does he have to settle? The boys ask for forgiveness. If he is guilty, out of court settlement could mean paying some indulgences and pennances and missing out the confessions of sins step.

The article said that they were going to try to settle with a mediator, to avoid a court case if possible.

I seriously doubt once lawyers get involved that no money would change hands.
