As the owner/administrator of CAF, I can say unequivocally that there is "no bashing of libs, [OR] wayward saints." Nor are we "having a field day on them lilly livered liberals."
In fact, I don't remember the last time I even READ the WORD "liberal" on the CAF.
I have, however seen MANY references to "ultracons" on this and other forums -- and RARELY is it used in a positive light.
In fact, I believe the whole term "ultracon" was coined as an insult to conservatives. The problem was that conservatives could call a man a "liberal" and he would balk. (I have yet to meet very many "liberals" who would own up the term -- they always call themselves "progressive" or "moderate.") However, when they in turn would call a man a "conservative," he wore the label proudly. So, the liberals had to come up with phrase which would cast a conservative in a bad light. Thus, the "ultracon" was born. It speaks of extremism and radical ideas. It is MEANT to insult.
Mind you, I'm not defending the use of labels (I know someone is going to attack me for that). I'm just explaining.
If ANYONE is "intolerant," it is those on the left towards those on the right. I have honestly seen FAR MORE ATTACKS coming from the left than I have coming from the right. And I run a "right-wing" forum!
Ok. Fire away. I'm ready.
