Remember those watches with the big faces and the interchangable bands? I had a band in almost every color and design.
I had forgotten about doing that, Sherri. The guy I went with most of the way through high school wore a size 14 ring - so I used ALOT of that angora thread. And had to replace the stuff often. I also wore it on a chain around my neck some of the time.

Now do you want to hear a sad side to this story? We broke up when I started going to an Apostolic church. The pastor at the church where we had both grown up put his foot down and said that the youth of that church could no longer associate with me after I started attending First Apostolic. Trust me - making me the decision to go Apostolic was a very difficult decision for a 15 year old to make because of the pressure that that pastor put on me. I lost my steady boyfriend, my best friend and all of the rest of the youth group. Plus this was a church I had grown up in since I was a small child, so I lost some adults that I had connected with as well.
Anyhow - the sad part is that Bill died 2 years ago. He got a blood clot that traveled to his heart and killed him instantly. He left behind a beautiful wife and a son who was a Freshman in college at the time. His baby sister (who was born while we were dating!!) is now giving my son piano lessons. My goodness, how time flies!

Thanks for letting me ramble

1972 - Learned to roller skate
1973 - Learned to ride bike w/o training wheels
1973 - Began Kindergarten
1974 - Began all day school/1st grade... My very first school lunch was: Lemonade, balogna sandwich w/cheese & mayo, and a Twinkie.
1976 - I remember my uncle graduating from High School & seeing lots of red, white & blue
1976 - Life's circumstances caused much turmoil
1978 - Got baptized in Jesus Name!
1978 - Mom got remarried
1979 - Even more turmoil

Some good memories & some bad... My FAVORITE 70's memory is sitting on my swingset one warm, sunny, summer day; listening to the birds singing, and looking up at the beautiful blue sky with huge, white fluffy clouds. I can still see & smell the freshly cut green grass! It's probably one of the most quiet and serene days I remember.

How about POP rocks the candy. Urban myth that a kid died while eating them and drinking a soda.

I remember "Peaches Records and Tapes" It was the big record store chain.

I guess they went out of Business because CD was not in their name or future.
