and everything was psychodelic. And tie-dyed. The brighter the better
Was Saturday Night Live from the 70's or the 80's? I can't remember. Gilda Radner - do you remember her?
How many of you read LOVE STORY? Eric Segal was the author - right? Even the music made us cry.
Andy Worhol's tomato soup can! Who can forget that?
Dego tees......sounds like a racial slur but that's what we called them. They were tank tops and usually two or more were worn together.....LOL!
Pink and gray worn together was in style also.
Also, bright color combinations. One of my favs was a certain blue shirt with a yellow sweater and a red skirt. Sounds strange now but it was cool then!
There were also shirts with long tails in the back. I loved those shirts.
Hahaha.....this is the wrong thread....thought it was the 80's one......ROFL!!!

Let's see...."Tapestry" came out in about 1970. It was a great album; very distinctive voice. She is the one who wrote and originally recorded "You've Got a Friend" before James Taylor ever did it, I think.
It's her version I remember.......
Winter, spring summer or fall
All you've got to do is call
And I'll be there..... yes I will
You've got a friend!

I had these bright purple wool bell bottoms that were so flared, it was ridiculous. I wore them with a pale yellow shirt with huge balloon sleeves. I think I was a size zero at that time. I thought I was ultra cool, but I was a beanpole.
Does anyone remember Nehru jackets?? They had a stand up collar and a little square opening at the neck. Also, everyone had CPO jackets, plaid wool, and actually pretty ugly.

Barb printed all the words a few posts back. That is one of my all time favorite songs. My cousin Steve sang it to me at a talent show one time at JCM in the 70's. He ALMOST sounded as good as James Taylor, but not quite.

Angora sweaters! They were really popular in our area.
