Tamor, I don't want to say it, but you and I are old This is so much fun tho!!

Unfortunately, it's after midnight here and I got up way too early this morning, so I have to hit the hay (I don't know if that's a 70's saying or just a saying my dad used all the time. When he sent us to bed, he always said, "Ok, kids, time to hit the hay.")

Good night!

Oh ya - Anne Murray. I found a CD of her older stuff a few months ago at WalMart. I spent the money on it just for the memories.

And here's a blast from the past - I remember listening to all of these on the 8 track player in my car!!!! I thought I was so cool with that 8 track player!
Carole King's ...

And it's too late, baby, now it's too late
Though we really did try to make it
Something inside has died and I can't hide
And I just can't fake it

I rarely listen to secular music nowadays, but I did break down and buy a CD of "Tapestry" by Carole King just for old time's sake. She had such an awesome voice. Wonder whatever happened to her?

I've never even heard of Carole King. She must be way before my time - since I'm MUCH younger than you........

I don't know but I liked her voice and some of her songs too. I mean I didn't really know that many - just the more popular ones that got the radio play.

Lots of great songs from the 70s I remember.

Remember the platform shoes?!! Big and clunky!

I had them, even though I'm 5'8". Eddie was wearing big ones when we got married. It made him REALLY tall!

Let's see...."Tapestry" came out in about 1970. It was a great album; very distinctive voice. She is the one who wrote and originally recorded "You've Got a Friend" before James Taylor ever did it, I think.
