RandyWayne,

I have been eyeing the Harmony One since it came out. I will eventually have one. Right now my dedicated home theater is controlled by the following seperate remotes that the Harmony One could reduce to just one;

Sony AV Receiver
Samsung Blu-Ray High Def DVD player
Toshiba A2 HD High Def DVD player
DISH VIP622 High Def DVR Satellite Receiver
Panasonic DVD recorder
Mitsuibishi HD projector
Light Dimmer

That is 7 remote controls to operate the Home Theater!!!!

Now back to the thread subject matter - Any update on what transpired and what the latest feedback is from the Detroit meeting of progressive UPCers?

Do we know how many were invited and how many showed up?

Are they now blacklisted from being guest speakers at mainstream UPC functions?

Did they have praise dancers at the meeting?

Re: Mooney Guns for "Secret" Meeting in Detroit?

No updates on the ruckus caused by the Detroit meeting?

Anybody know how many were invited and how many attended?

I was thinking if they end up being forced out of the UPC and form a new org. they could name it; United Pentecostal Church: The Next Generation.

if it was good enough for Star Trek it should be good enough here........

Mooney's a good guy, but he's a clone of Nathaniel Urshan - the man who stammered endless apologies for his father's writings in our General Conference meetings.

What was wrong with the "old paths?" The paths blazed by our pioneers like A.D. Urshan and others? And what's wrong with going back to those paths? It's far better than following the deceit and the cruelty that have characterized the implementation of the newer agenda.

I think it's sad that you compare some of this new generation's false teaching's with the roots of Apostolic teachings being placed in sand when God himself in the old testament warned that the children must be constantly and consistently reminded of their heritage! Were not God's Word true in the old testament? Were His word's built on sand because the Israelites fell away? Had He not performed such miraculous things and set His ordinances and statues justly for the protection of His people even though they may not have understood why? Yet they murmured and complained and they deified His will in their lives. He is mighty and powerful and to be feared, He is also merciful and has delivered His people time and again from their sin. It is important to see all through the old testament that God did not want His people to be like the people in the lands they inhabited.

So now we have these "New Generation" liberal preachers who want to conform to the world... Mooney is right, they haven't been hated for Jesus name. They did not endure the ridicule and persecution their father's did... and if they don't agree they should not take up a church under the assumption they are going to follow the Apostolic doctrine, when in fact they are not. They need to go off and start what they believe. Build there own foundation like their father's did, ridicule scorn and persecution included!!
Not me, you do what you will... But I was bought with a price my life is not my own, I am His. Thankfully His! This momma has been loosed the chains of this world addiction taken away. Though I lost all, I have been redeemed by the blood of my savior and dusted of and place back upright! I am an example of all the Lord can do. I am His servant because He is my God, and if all is required is for me to act like a lady how unfair for the Lord is that?! But His ways are above my own. I will walk the path I am led of my savior.

This confuses me. I thought THAT was what they were trying to do. Get back to the roots of the FATHER's that were persecuted.

I don't think just one generation ago their paternal father's were persecuted.

Jesus also said:

Matt. 15:9 in vain do they worship me,
teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'"

This is what we're struggling with in our generation.

Correct, we need to validate if these "Old Paths" are built upon sand or rock.

That may be your opinion, but it is certainly not a fact. I do not agree. That same statement was made to me back in the late 70's when Mark Hanby and Kenneth Phillips left the UPC. I believe the UPCI is in transition. There are many great Christian leaders in the UPCI, including Bro. Rex Johnson, at whose church you recently sang, not to mention TF Tenney, and countless others. The UPCI is what it is, an earthly organization used of God to promote the Kingdom of God, through the preaching of the Gospel, and it is not dying.
