I have really enjoyed the testimonies and totally understand what you're saying about people being misunderstood. I often feel like people think I go around bashing the UPC all the time and that's not the case. I have heard former UPC members call it a cult and that just makes me cringe. Yes, I don't agree with all the standards and I see UPC churches that don't follow the standards but since I don't agree with them I chose not to attend a UPC church any more.
I have a rich Apostolic heritage that I'm proud of. My great grandmother pastored the first Apostolic church in the Charleston, WV area. My grandfather never considered himself a minister but he baptised many people and started a church in his home in Grand Rapids, MI. There was also a period of time when my grandparents were first married that they lived in Indiana and attended G.T. Haywood's church. I also have a sister who had a tumor on her face when she was young and she was prayed for and it disappeared. God has been good to me and my family!

3. I have a Miniature Schnauzer named Lincoln whom I love
4. I work in radio...love it!
5. I have to sleep with a fan and a heater going at the same time!

IF it's not too late...here are my 5 (or more)

1. I am an identical twin. We look exactly alike and even sound alike. When our families get together the kids often times confuse us (at least initially)! They still can't tell us apart on the phone.
2. I have been threatended at gun point, by someone I thought I loved.
3. I went to Sturgis in '93 on the back of a Harley and stayed there a week in a tent! That was an interesting week!
4. I absolutely love school. I hated high school but now if I could find someone to pay me to go to school, for whatever, I would go! I love school!
5. I love goatee's on men but not a full beard. I don't dislike beards, I just prefer a goatee.
6. I like to travel. I wasn't able to travel much as a child b/c my family couldn't afford it. We have taken our kids on several trips that I was never able to take. I would like to go to Wyoming but I am not sure why. I imagine it is beautiful up there.
7. I moved an average of every two years (yes even as a child) until I was 25.
8. I have been arrested once, when I was 13. It scared me so bad I never did that again!
9. I have been swimming off the cost of Spain and snow skiing in Austria.
10. I have been to Paris but wasn't impressed much at all.

1. I like to wrap Christmas gifts in plain brown packing paper and red ribbon.

2. Walt Whitman is my favorite poet, albeit somewhat shocking and rumored to be a homosexual by some accounts.

3. I never regift. My Grandmother used to give me wrapped presents when I would visit, and usually it was something I had seen before--sitting on one of her knick knack shelves for years.

4. I have short, stubby toes.

5. In 3rd grade I chased a boy down and tried to kiss him on the mouth. He blew a raspberry back in my face and pushed me down. LOL!!!!!

6. I hate cheap shoes. (oh, maybe you knew that one.)

7. I'm very absent minded. When I was pregnant it got even worse, with me putting my purse in the freezer, constantly locking my keys in the car, (or in the house), and leaving the car lights on.

8. My Dad loved chocolate covered cherries...when I was a kid (okay, even as a bratty teenager), I would open the box, poke a toothpick in the bottom of each candy, suck out all the cherry ganache (or whatever it was), and put the chocolate cherry back in the box for my unsuspecting Dad to eat.
