...BTW, people get offended by the smallest thing and even Jesus offended people. If we are suppose to be more like Jesus, this attack means little to me. If you want to rant and rave, then go ahead, but I will still believe what I have learned.
I didn't attack you. Just like you claim that you didn't offend me.
Rant and rave? You're wrong, and it's your right to be wrong.
I'm sure I'll be reading in the news real soon about an Apostolic preacher who is telling people to avoid taking medications because, according to him, the Bible says they're made by sorcerers, which is the modern day pharmacist.
May God bless your home with Peace.

Maybe God is revealing to him He doesn't want him to see any doctors.
Thats much more possible....
BUT he said that god told him the reason Luke went with Paul was for that, thats not any type of personal revelation, thats a Bible changing revelation.

mz bratti,
we all make HUGE conclusions from what the scriptures are SILENT on ALL THE TIME.
I am not particularly up on the specifics of the pointed exchange between O.M. and the rest of the field but....I thought I would post this.
Using your fun example surrounding diner at the Bratti house:
Jesus had purple hair!
....
Show me in the bible where is says he doesn't!
1. It is up to the one who makes the statement to back up their claims.
2. If something is not stated in the Bible, it cannot be made into doctrine. In my opinion, it shouldn't be stated as fact.
Luke probably did pray for folks. I would imagine most, if not all of the disciples did. However, he was also a physician. How do you reconcile the two? Did he cease being a physician? I find it interesting that Luke is referred to as the "Beloved physician", almost as if it was his practice that he was endeared for.

You have a point there, Gus. But, I happen to know OM in real life, so I guess my perspective on this revelation is probably going to be a bit different.

If you notice agree with the perspective both of you take, maybe for a different reason, but my beef with this discussion is that OM is making it a one way issue. He doesn't leave any possibility that it could mean witchcraft.
I think there is a possibility it could mean the application of medication, but I think that is unlikely as it was translated to witchcraft. Obviously the translation into witchcraft means one of two things: That the use of that word was one of the other possible definitions AKA the definition that is synonymous with witchcraft OR pharmaceutical practitioners AKA the modern day doctors were witches. Well, since Luke wasn't a witch I would say it is more likely that the use of that word is probably not related to the medical field.
Granted there is a chance it is, but all the logical signs point away from that.

I am certainly willing to give credit to man for creating synthethic compounds that minipulate the human body's chemistry. Many of which, though blantantly non-curative, do provide mangement of one particular symptom for as long as user can obtain the compound, successfully process the compound, and cope with the new symptoms that result from the compound.
I also am very willing to give praise and honor to my Lord who suffered the scourge to provide my access to healing.
I am not willing to interweave the two.
Fair enough. Your point was clear to me in your initial post about suppressing God's built-in ability to deal with certain sicknesses, and I agree with it in principle.
I also see what you're conveying in the quoted portion of your post above: G-d doesn't give the empirical formulations to synthetic compounds as Divine revelation, but rather, gives Man the wisdom to formulate, and He watches from a distance and does not get directly involved in Man's process to formulate and produce synthetic compounds. Our view differs in that I believe G-d allows all things to be given. I can certainly live with this, as I know many who hate medication, and we get along fine.
You have a personal conviction about this and I respect it. Oneness Man, who seems like a nice fellow, has what he believes is a Biblical revelation, and I don't respect it, only because it's interpretive and not Biblical.

Please note, using strongs definition of an ancient greek word to define a modern english term, and building doctrine on it is a pretty poor method.... and it will get your ox in the ditch as my Bishops wife would say.

Who taught you how to hold a conversation? LOL!!! If you make a statement, YOU should be the one backing it up with evidence and proof.
I can't imagine the looks I would get at the dinner table if I sat down and said, "Jesus had purple hair." "Huh? What? Where does the Bible say that?" To which I intelligently reply, "Prove me wrong. Go search the scripture for yourself."
ROFL!!!!!!
People with unteachable spirits is futile in showing them the truth. That is why you find it for yourself, because God has shown me about this. Now, if you want to know the truth about it, ask God.
