Re: Trying to Rescue Another from HMH Doctrine

I don't know about the link between the roaring 20's and the gross darkness over our nation today...but one thing Jay said was very true..when morals are thrown away it is the beginning of the end. I will take it a bit further.

When people no longer reverance God, when prayer ceases, when the Word is no longer the source of life and living...a nation ceases to be a Christian nation. Because when they knew God and had a form of godliness, they began to deny the power thereof, ever learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

There is still a need for Sanctification, Separation, and Consecration - the biggest obsticle in Apostolica when it comes to these three things is that leaders have tried to legislate them because they were / are trying to stave off the tide of godlessness - but the issue has always been and always will be a heart issue. These things are personal and up to each individual to choose. a wise leader knows this and gives the sheep space to develop in Christ in maturity. The unwise try for force the issues, and most times loose the soul in the process.

It is personal, it is relational, and there does need to be a difference...

That was nice.
When I seek Spiritual separation lately,
I find that taking the dogs on a hike
usually best illuminates where my
frame of mind should be.

bbyrd009, If you could only know the manifold blessings of the LORD! I wouldn't say it has been solely the uncut hair, but endeavoring to "walk in the Spirit" and desiring the Holy Ghost to lead and guide us in everything!

Grandma may have been raised from her deathbed with bobbed hair, BUT HE DIDN"T LEAVE her there. A few short years after HE healed her completely from the dreaded Typhoid Fever, HE passed by their little town, in the form of an old white-headed preacher, preaching the Acts 2 message of New Covenant salvation. She visited the revival that followed his street preaching. Her family, she, her husband and my late father, who was 14 yrs old at the time. They went of of curiousity. (Our pastor father would later say, "We found what we NEEDED, but wasn't looking for", in that first Pentecostal meeting.

Grandma, a devout praying, Bible-reading Methodist, got mad and set out to "prove that preacher wrong"! She searched the scriptures, and found it to be "in the BOOK"!. She found that what this man had preached was indeed in the WORD. She felt cheated that her own preacher had never told them about "that part". She found it in the Book, believed it, repented, and was baptized in the name of Jesus and received the Holy Spirit/Ghost (same thing), speaking in tongues as "the Spirit gave the utterance"! The Spirit began to lead her as she prayed, read the Word, and went about to "follow on to know the LORD"! Jesus told his disciples that if they followed on to know the Lord, then they were "his disciples indeed"! I could say much more., but I know as her eldest granddaughter, that Grandma had a very close relationship with her GOD. She sought to please Him explicitly as she sought His leading. This GOD who had answered her prayer that IF "He would see fit, to let her live to raise her three children".

Our late pastor father followed his mother in repentance, baptism and also received the Holy Ghost, speaking in tongues, as the SPIRIT gave the utterance. Our mother also received the same experience, along with her mother, during that first revival in 1933. Out of the marriage of our parents, eleven children were born. Without exception, every one of their children received this same experience in time. Hey, how many witnesses do you need to be convinced that something is genuine

In 1958, I received that same experience, and met my husband to be in the revival I met him in. He and his family received the Holy Ghost in that 1958 revival with Bro Verbal Bean as evangelist. I had received the Holy Ghost a few weeks before in a revival back in our old hometown. Shortly after that revival where I met my future husband, our father began a work for God in the city we had moved to in 1950. Today that small beginning is a thriving church, still holding on to the same message that our father began preaching in 1958. MANY things have changed in Pentecost since those days, BUT our GOD has NOT changed. HE is the same yesterday and today and forever. SO it matters not what man may say, the Spirit we received almost 54 yrs ago, remains the same, to LEAD and GUIDE us into all TRUTH. Our six adult children all have received the Holy Ghost, just as Grandma did, our Dad did, all eleven of we children did, and our six children did and all of our Grandchildren that are old enough to understand, have heard, believed and received. We have 22grandchildren. Our eldest grandchild is 28 yrs old, is the only one that is married, and they are expecting our second GREAT- Grandchild the first week of June. Their little 2 yr old is being raised in a home that believes the same message that Grandma heard, believed and obeyed, and lived so long ago. Incidentally, not only did she live to raise her there young children, she lived to see and hold our first grandchild. He was born in 1983, she died Oct 1984. After she received the Holy Ghost in 1933, Grandma never cut her hair again. There are those in five generation, going on six generations, that have not cut theirs.

bbyrd009, I could say much, much more but will stop, lest I be thought to boast too much. I am not boasting at all. It is giving PRAISE, Honor and Glory to the GOD who made it all possible, by Jesus Christ. HE IS GREAT and GREATLY to be PRAISED! I've never loved HIM better than TODAY!!

When we endeavor to follow the LORD and try to please HIM in every way, our lives WILL turn out Right! I would say that it has to do with allowing God (SPIRIT) to lead and guide us into all TRUTH!. If that includes having our
(ladies) hair uncut, then so be it. Perhaps it has to do with a WILLING spirit. HE was WILLING to go ALL THE WAY to the Cross. Can we say today, "LORD, not my will, but Thine be done". Can we say we are WILLING to give all, or do we say, "Lord, just don't ask too much of ME"!

Are we WILLING VESSELS yet!
