Did you see Barry an AI the other night? He's old! And his teeth don't fit his mouth right either......but he's still pretty good looking.
Yes, that's what made me think of Andy Gibb.
I had to show my kids a pic of both Barry & Andy on the computer - their pics from the 70's, of course. Then I told them about my crush on Andy & my friend, Kim's, crush on Barry (4th grade). Then I said, "Now isn't Andy better looking that Barry?" And my son said, "I don't know." I said, "You have eyes, don't you?" He responded, "Mom, do you really want me to say, 'Yeah, that guy's good looking?'" And I said, "Well, just tell me that he's better looking than Barry!"
He never did say it.
My daughter wouldn't either. She just looked at me. Wonder what's up with them?

And I can see the looks on the girls' faces too....hahaha

LOL! Well, I tried to get them to see things my way. What's a mother to do?
Oh, he also said, "Mom, can you imagine if I went up to my friends and said, 'hey, isn't that guy good looking?'" I guess he was trying to say, "No, Mom, I'm NOT going to agree with your assessment."
I'm STILL not sure what was up with my daughter, though... just sittin' there staring at me like that. Whatever.
As a young person in the church in the 70's, I remember how it was questionable whether we should be allowed to listen to Andre Crouch or not. The adults thought that he might be a little "too rock".

Some Favorite Memories:
First let me say that I was not in church in the early 70s, so I have no point of reference for that. I was just an innocent kid in the early 70s making my way through the phonies and getting through undergraduate school. MY BEST MEMORY is finding a Oneness Church - repenting, being baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ and receiving the Holy Ghost....Then, living a dedicated life for Him....I faced many bumps in the road that just about jarred me out of race, but I'm still surviving!
Doesn't MUSIC sorta define our memories from each decade?
I remember my college roommate and I raising our windows and playing our Blood, Sweat and Tears record and The Band record over and over and over until we memorized the words...."Spinning Wheel"..."God Bless The Child Who's Got His Own"...."You Make Me So Very Happy"..."Up on Cripple Creek"..."The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down"...and Carole King's Tapestry album - "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow"...."I Feel the Earth Move"..."So Far Away"..."You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman"...I think we learned every song on that record!...Also, James Taylor - "Fire and Rain"...Simon and Garfunkel - "Bridge Over Troubled Water" ...."Book Ends"...."Sounds of Silence"...Leonard Cohen - "Bird on a Wire"...."So Long, MaryAnne"...."Suzanne"...Tom Paxton 6 - "Don't It Always Seem to Go that You Don't Know What You've Got Til It's Gone" and "Cindy's Crying"....Gordon Lighfoot - "If You Could Read My Mind Dear"..."In the Early Morning Rain"......Jimi Hendrix Experience - "Foxy Lady"....Janis Joplin - "Me and Bobby McGee"....Johnny Cash - "Sunday Morning Comin' Down" ....Kris Kristofferson - "One Day At a Time", "Why Me Lord"....I knew some of those who made the music and who lived the music.
....I remember the unrest of our country being at war and the agony of the daily body count on the nightly news - watching us lose a war that we never should have fought. I remember Kent State killings of four students by the National Guard on April 4, 1970. ...
This is a 60's song that carried over to the 70s and to 2007:
Where Have All The Flowers Gone? (by Peter, Paul, and Mary)
Where have all the flowers gone, long time passing?
Where have all the flowers gone, long time ago?
Where have all the flowers gone?
Young girls have picked them everyone.
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Where have all the young girls gone, long time passing?
Where have all the young girls gone, long time ago?
Where have all the young girls gone?
Gone for husbands everyone.
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Where have all the husbands gone, long time passing?
Where have all the husbands gone, long time ago?
Where have all the husbands gone?
Gone for soldiers everyone
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Where have all the soldiers gone, long time passing?
Where have all the soldiers gone, long time ago?
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Gone to graveyards, everyone.
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Where have all the graveyards gone, long time passing?
Where have all the graveyards gone, long time ago?
Where have all the graveyards gone?
Gone to flowers, everyone.
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Where have all the flowers gone, long time passing?
Where have all the flowers gone, long time ago?
Where have all the flowers gone?
Young girls have picked them everyone.
Oh, when will they ever learn?
