Exactly what it appeared to be to me also. But if we say anything negative you know it will be turned around that we are tearing them up... in all actuality all it is, speaking of the sermon and the things spoken therein.
Dean, all due respect but no one is bashing your friend! They are having a discussion about something thats pretty common knowledge and not bashing really at all...

Thad, as usual, your 'sources' from Oregon are incorrect. Have I told you lately that you gossip worse than most women I know?

Still reading ..... on page 14 and won't finish this tonight but I have to wonder .......
Why does it matter so much what Larry Booker does or doesn't say? LOL.
We were with him in the 80s and found him to be just a normal nice kind of guy. So what's the big deal with what he does or doesn't believe? Or say? He's not in line to become the next GS or anything like that is he?

I have a relative who is a minister in Oregon and says otherwise

It would appear that you forgot to mention the brutal autopsy of a righteous man who is still alive and trying to serve God with a good conscience.
It's not the 'issues' that bother me. It's the extreme statements that are being made about good men. That is, sincerely, not what this forum was intended to be about.

I have a ton of friends I go to church with now who are from oregon and they say otherwise also... Also have 2 cousins from there who cannot step foot anywhere near some of their other cousins because they go to the church they formerly attended and since they left for a more "liberal" NOT church... they cannot associate with these cousins or they will be asked to leave the church in which they are currently in a leadership position!!!!

It's not about my 'friend'. It is, as stated just prior on a post, about the extreme and unnecessary things being said.
Additionally, if you don't see any bashing then something is wrong with your vision. Admittedly, it appears to have calmed down some towards the end.

Thus far, there are only three pastors in my district for certain who are dropping fellowship with the UPCI, and, one of those pastors' wives was at ladies' conference. And, I haven't heard yet that any of them are 'going with the Tulsa crowd', but they might be. Most of the ministers in my district are staying put and waiting to see what all happens in the next little while.
