No, I'm saying that her husband wants to allow his wife to use the translation she is comfortable with. She doesn't like the Elizabethan, her husband knows this, so you would allow her to continue to read her NIV.

Sean, help me out here. You admittedly teach from the SFT charts, yet you claim it is wrong to define the English words from the Greek, am I right on this? So what do you do when you get to your SFT Lesson 6 Page 31? Look at: #4 Dual Nature of God; As a Man; Born a Baby, or Son. That subheading uses Matthew 1:23-25. In case your SFT chart isn't handy, let me refresh your memory on what Matthew 1:23 says.
(Matthew 1:23 KJV) Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
So, why am I bringing this up? Well, "Emmanuel" is the Greek word for the OT Immanuel, as found in Isaiah 7:14. If you look in Matthew 1:23, the writer defines for the reader what that Greek word meant.
So, here are my questions:
First, you say it's wrong to define the Bible with Greek definitions, so was the writer of Matthew 1:23 in error for doing that?
Second, since you feel it is such a grave sin to use Greek definitions to explain the meanings of biblical words, how can YOU use Matthew 1:23 in your lessons without being a hypocrite?

I thought you did all the reading, and they followed along. You have them read so therefore the sister would have to get rid of the NIV to make you happy.
