I'm not sure why prescriptions are supposedly cheaper ordering from Canada. It could be because the pharmaceuticals have such a racket going here. I think if we had national healthcare, the expense to the normal american might be cheaper for meds, but taxes would go up so high that more money would just go into the pockets of the big people. Taxes in Canada are REALLY high.

The Fair Tax is a simpler solution. It takes government away from the citizens and allows everyone more of THEIR money to spend on items like health care. Or in your case airfares.
