I've never heard that, I'll have to try it differently.

We put the teabags in while boiling at home, but I remember that when I worked at a java shop a few years ago, we did it the way you do. I'll try that here and see if they notice a difference.

Try it and see if anyone notices the difference in the taste - it's a lot clearer and smooth tasting.

I loved working at Lipton - so much free stuff it was great!

My husband drinks sweet tea every day. I never drink it. White sugar gives me a headache. I use honey in my Earl Grey or coffee. We never use artificial sweeteners at home. If we eat out my husband says, "Pass the rat poison." (Sweet 'N Low)

If the tea is already cold you have to use too many packets to sweeten it, thus the Sweet 'N Low.

I put two Tetley Family size tea bags in a quart saucepan with 3/4 c. sugar. Bring it to a boil and then turn it off. After it cools, put it in a gallon pitcher with cold water.

If we have company I use 1 cup of sugar. It seems others like it sweeter.

Let it steep for 30 minutes, then squeeze out the tea bags and add one cup sugar or 1 1/2 if you like it real sweet. Fill the pitcher the rest the way up with cool water - - pour over ice!

Never add tea bags directly to boiling water - causes the tea to taste acidy.
It still gets kinda acidity seeping it that long. That's actually what makes part of the taste along with lots of sugar...

Iced tea is not seeped that long, though it might still be seeped to strong tea and then diluted with ice. Also squeezing out the bags makes it very strong too

For good hot tea, not "sweet tea", you really want to bring just to a boil, not a rolling boil and seep for about 3 min. For green tea this is just right. But if you are making iced tea then you want it stronger

My bunch wouldn't drink it hot. They're as country as cornbread and they want ice cold sweet tea! But I might do hot tea for company. On second thought, nah.... most folk around here drink it the same way!
