I don't agree; personal prophecies are conditional. Many of them, you can stop from taking place if you want to.

Another problem is that prophets get at least two loopholes...

1. They say that it wasn't actually a prophesy, but was just a personal feeling... (but they will only say this if it doesn't come true)

2. It just hasn't happened "yet".

I just refuse to believe any of it. I heard too much of this stuff growing up that I denounce it all... if anyone, I don't care who they are, gives me a prophecy, I will ignore it and will not become superstitious about it... and the only thing that will make that prophecy come true will be if I believe it and "self-fulfill" it.

Elder,

I was thinking of you when I started this thread. I knew you would enjoy it.

Sheltie,

I do not claim to be a Prophet. But I have had things that I just knew. Normally I just tell folks, "this is what I feel the Lord is telling me". They have to weigh it out for themselves. I only one time that I can remember have spoke something outright. I told my sister-in-law that she would have a boy before I knew what I was saying simply because a witch had told her it was a girl. On the way home, I told my wife, "I can't believe I said that!". No one but the doctor knew what it would be until it was born, as they never wanted to know. We gave them blue stuff at her shower, and her son Will wore those things as a testimony against a witch.

Matt,

This is very similar to the story of my wife. Her grandfather (not in church) went to a fortune teller, who said it would be a boy. My wife's parents prayed to have a girl to tear down this man's confidence in the fortune teller. And I am definitely married to a woman!

I think God likes to slap the devil around! And I am sure your wife is a testimony to HIS power.

You are being stubborn.
