I studied the Masons years ago....

The average Mason in your town has no idea what the Masons are about on a higher level. They work it just like all of the mystery religions have worked it through the milenia.

You are incrementally taught along the way.

I don't see where any Christian has any business joining anything that requres them to...

* Participate in a ceremony which you state you are "in darkness and seek light". Relationship with Jesus Christ is not darkness and the Lodge is not the light.

* Vow silence on anything under penalty of having your throat slit from ear to ear.

* Take part in the re-enactment of the death of Hiram Abiff which is strikingly similar to the ancient rites of Babylon.

and the list goes on.

Re: Secret Societies

My (late) step-dad was a Mason. My mom was an "Eastern Star" ( I believe that is what the wives of Masons were). He got a job at the local air force base as a civilian contractor....making intregal helicopter parts by hand (the parts that were so rare that they couldn't be made otherwise.) So yeah,...being a Mason really helps. I would never join, myself, though. My brother tried to join some time back,....but they required a $5000 fee (and he just didn't have it then).

The masons aren't that secret... a lot of people have logos on their cars, or on their licenses plate.

Well,..yes,...they have the logos,..and the rings and stuff. What they DON'T tell you, is what actually goes on inside during their meetings and initiations. (a lot of oaths are taken that aren't in context with biblical teaching). A lot of the beliefs are actually anchient Egyptian in nature.
