People want to blame others: other people, demons, the devil, even God.

Knowing this, charlatans figured out they can make a living by telling people their problems are caused by various external forces and that they, the charlatans, just happen to know how to fix things. For a fee, of course. Or a free will donation given as an act of faith.

I checked out The Book of Enoch by R.H. Charles from the library. It has two introductions by R.A. Gilbert and Lon Milo Duquette.

From the introductions I've learned that this book is used by occultists, magicians, Freemasons, the Golden Dawn, and the likes of Madam Blavatsky, John Dee and various secret societies for rituals and Enochian magic.
