Re: Lee Stoneking Addresses UN

I admit I read this thread simply out of morbid curiosity. Other than now being able to say "I know someone who spoke at the UN"...what difference does this make? LS is still LS & the UN is still the UN...nothing has changed.

We don't know that for sure. We don't know anything except that he was allowed to speak and what he said. Rushing to judgement often leads to error.

He lies and his lies get exposed. That is who should represent all of you to the world? <shakes head>

Well...guess I should've said...I believe LS is still LS & the UN is still the UN....nothing has changed. Don't believe speaking at the UN will change LS(his beliefs/doctrines/etc...)...nor do I believe his words will cause the UN to change its beliefs/actions/etc... So yeah....basically nothing has changed.

I understood you the first time, I just hope you are mindful of the distinction between believing and knowing.

Why are you so intent on downplaying the significance of this?

You're like that cat who went to see the Queen of England but only saw the rat under the throne.

It would have been even greater had it been a full General Assembly with heads of state in attendance. But it's still incredible, even with all the empty seats. This may have been the only time the UN Secretary General or General Assembly President have heard the message of the new birth. And who knows what could happen to the many sitting in the meeting room and others watching online.

Even if only one low-level delegate sitting in attendance and hearing the message is saved, it's well worth it.
I dont see why you have to turn a conversation into a personal attack

Its just a conversation. What is wrong with you people?

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Re: Lee Stoneking Addresses UN

Speaking as someone who is NOT one of LS's many followers, I will say in his defense that it is not up to any of us to give or reserve judgment on whether this was a 'God thing'. Regardless of his pontificating and misleading in the past, what he spoke re Jesus Christ being the only Way IS truth, and for that I am grateful.

My fear is that those who already think LS sits on the right hand of the Father will elevate Him beyond what is due. I will leave this alone because there is much more I would like to say about this...

I will just say that we need to stop making rock stars out of men and look to Jesus...man is the messenger, but the Lord is the baptizer.

I remember a prayer thread here about him sometime ago, as he was having serious surgery for cardiac issues, and so perhaps I misunderstood, but in any event - if he was completely healed, and delivered of the cardiac disease gene... why did he have this event just a few months ago? Just a question... ?
