the only point I was trying to make is that I feel that it is wrong to judge these parents for their reaction, whether you agree or not. You can say that you can't imagine Texans reacting the same way. But the honest to goodness truth is that we never know how we will react in a given situation as devastating as this until we are faced with the situation. Criticize the government. Criticize Obama - I will jump on the bandwagon with the rest of you for these! But have some compassion for these parents. No one says that we have to agree with them. But maybe the best thing to do is to focus our energies on bashing the government and Obama instead of knocking down these folks. The easiest thing to do? Say NOTHING about them. Or say you disagree with them. But don't sit in judgment of them.
My Governor speaks for me, and a very large percentage of Texans.

After Sandy Hook, teachers should be armed, says Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

Reporter: "The crowd erupted into applause when Gov. Perry even eluded to arming teachers." He didn't elude to it, he said it.

Obama having one of the mothers from Sandy Hook give the very FIRST EVER weekly address that has only been given by himself and Biden is very pretty telling.

Again, I am sorry for the horrible loss, but don't turn it into a personal gun control campaign.

No one has any less compassion on their grief, they are in our prayers, no one commenting on this thread doesn't feel their pain.

We are just simply not going to fail to realize and get hoodwinked into the mantra going on in the media - "Surely they wouldn't filibuster this bill after those emotional pleas?" UGH! They went out of their way to set this up and stymie a protest throughout the Communist media using these parents as leverage. And these parents need to know it and they need to refuse to be used as tools. So, in the middle of their grief, they are going to have to deal with this issue as well.

The reason Mexico hasn't taken over Texas and ravaged our state, where I LIVE, is because we are armed. Someone needs to thank us for the protection we afford the rest of this country. Yes, I am angry. I am angry because we have illegals and drug cartels breathing down our flipping necks.

I am not angry at you. I am angry at this situation.

It's hard to respect those who obviously do not respect themselves. Letting themselves be exploited by those who seek to establish a totalitarian order in the USA is more than disrespectful to the memory of their slain kids. But what can we expect from liberal New Englanders? If they really wanted children protected, then they'd be approaching this from a mental health angle. But their liberal brainwashing drives them to jump on the band wagon of disregard of the rights of free people. I wish New England had followed through with their secession threat of 1812.
I AGREE with you on guns! My whole contention thru everything I have said on this thread is that I am saddened that Originalist cannot muster compassion for the Sandy Hook parents instead of kicking them while they are down.

Why it it impossible in your mind to grieve and have compassion for their loss while at the same time expressing disgust at their willingness to exploit their own children's deaths to promote their ideology? I mean, if they are Obama supporters, then they already have the same deceitful, shady, shameless tendencies shared by most on the left.

These parents are not blind to what they are doing, that's for sure. They aren't country bumpkins by any means.

Politico: Dem Operatives Guide Newtown Families in Lobbying for Gun Control

In addition, Politico reports that Sandy Hook Promise, a nonprofit group begun in Newtown by community members, is coordinating lobbying for 14 families. Some of the families are also working with New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s group, Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

Passing gun control legislation has become a business in Newtown. Politico reports that Tim Makris, father of a fourth-grader who survived the horrific shooting, quit his product development job to become the executive director of Sandy Hook Promise.

Except that they stepped into it and now they own it - for better or for worse. That's just the reality of the situation.

Re: I've lost respect for Sandy Hook parents

Can I hijack this thread for a moment. Everyone needs to go back and look at this post, "Everybody needs to watch this" and watch the video. I don't always open a link either, but I'm glad I opened this one. Thanks Dordrecht.

Thanks, BT, We've discussed this on our (three) blog radio programs. I think I'm exhausted from it all. You can't imagine how many people don't want to listen. They want someone else to fight for them. lol

Coming back to add that it is awesome that David Horowitz (Radical Son) and Andrew Breitbart ( Righteous Indignation), to name a few, came out of Berkeley having their eyes opened and did something about it. So, all is not lost, IMO.

Of course, God reigns supreme...

Glad to hear that you've been discussing it. I want to do what I can to wake up anyone that will listen. The author sure lays down, point after point the road we've taken. Help us Lord get back to you. ......... 2Ch 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Re: I've lost respect for Sandy Hook parents

Is the constitutional right to bear arm limited at all? Does the constitution allow you to own a nuke? An RPG launcher? Antiaircraft missiles? Fully automatic assault rifles?

Isn't the argument about where to draw that line? I don't know many who advocate confiscation of all firearms, which seems to be what a lot of gun nuts think. Or want to think.

As for arming teachers, it would only be a matter of time before someone is injured in an accidental shooting. Training will reduce the risk, but even trained police officers have accidents. It will happen.
