Re: Very scared

Yes I have been baptized in Jesus name. I was so on fire for god and somewhere down the line lost my prayer life.

If you can see through your own eyes you have lost your prayer life just pick it back up.

We have all gone through times in our walk it seems like we are in a dry and dusty land.

Repent to God forgive yourself and move on. Your not waiting for God He is waiting on you.

From my own life I was running one day and I told God I sure could use an encounter with you and what I got was " well Mike I am waiting for an encounter with you" I had been so busy that my prayer life had slipped.

He the creator of the universe so enjoyed my time spent with Him that He wanted to encounter me with all my imperfections.

He is waiting!

And you've only been going to church for a few months?

This reminds me of when I got married. A few days after the wedding people would jokingly say "So how is married life treating you? Hee hee hee" to which I would respond "Well, it has its ups and downs but in the end you just have to make sure you don't go to bed angry", at which point the person often wouldn't know if I was being serious or not (I wasn't).

I saw that to say that you shouldn't be having "ups" and "downs" yet! At least not in the way your describing them.

"I backslid and prayed back through 4 times!!!"
"That's wonderful, that you prayed back through! How long have you been going to church?"
"Oh about three weeks."

Re: Very scared

I have found that it is really easy for me to fall into a trap of projecting personality traits on God. If I don't pray a lot, I feel that He is angry with me and I spend even less time with him until I remind myself thst He is Love and He wants to spend time with me.

Re: Very scared

Condemnation comes from our flesh and/or Satan.

Conviction comes from the Lord Jesus.

Condemnation serves to only deepen and worsen our problems, creating overwhelming fear and guilt.

Conviction from the Lord Jesus compels you to look to Him, trust in Him, and turn to Him. His grace is sufficient for your every weakness. Jesus is able to give you what you need to fight off the attacks of the enemy.

It is the enemy's objective to bring condemnation which causes you to run in the opposite direction from the Lord. It is the Lord's desire to draw you to Him, to turn to Him, and trust in Him not push you away.

No doubt you are feeling condemnation from the enemy which is only serving to further worsen your mental state.

Have an honest conversation (prayer) with the Lord, and share openly with Him all your frustrations, concerns, weaknesses, failures, and sins. Turn TO Him. Don't run from Him. Be honest in your prayer. I believe the Lord will hear and answer your prayer.

I will be praying for you.

Are you going to a "Strict, Ultra Con" church? I agree with Cindy, "did someone tell you you couldn't cut hair and be saved?"

Using that logic, you couldn't work at a grocery store where they sell cigarettes, alcohol, etc.... you couldn't work in a clothing store because some of the clothes are very sexy and revealing. You couldn't sell automobiles because of all of the evil things done in a car. I know I'm being extreme but I still think you should pray and let God work with you as a new and honest heart and let Him help you rule your life.

Someone could tell you often enough, that wearing red was a sin and whether you believed it or not, after hearing it so much, there would be some condemnation when you put on red. Not from God but from a heart that wanted to do right. And please believe me, there are times we blame God for things that He did not do, that He was not the author of, and the condemnation we feel was not from Him. We've all been guilty of that at one time or the other. Be careful about saying "God said, thus and thus, or God made me feel like this".......because if that is true you can never change that because God doesn't change.

My prayers are with you. Don't stop praying, don't stop reading your Bible, don't stop believing, and most of all don't stop repenting. Believe in yourself and your God and all things are possible!

Re: Very scared

Lol, yup. Another 'convert' to the American Way of church, converted in fear, baptized in death. The best thing you could do is bail from church, and go find God.
