I was labeled myself " Trinitarian", but never held to a belief that in any way resembled a belief in three Gods. Admittedly, some self proclaimed " Trinitarians" do hold to views that sound very tri-theistic. But they are not true Trinitarians as I see it.

A true Trinitarian believes there are 3 co equal, co eternal persons each one of them God in their own right.
Anyone who does not agree with this classic version of it is not a TRUE Trinitarian. This is what I have heard from many of them over the years.

The historical doctrine teaches there is One being that is Tri-personal. Convoluted? Yes. Contrived? Yes...Yes and Yes again but never the less THAT is how there is "One God"...not One as in a unity or meeting of the minds but in fact there is just numerically one in number God/Being who is somehow Tripersonal
As Jason Dulle says...a modified form of Tritheism.

- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I don't know many true trinitarians. I know trinitarians who couldn't explain the trinity if you pointed a gun to their head though...

Explain Jesus in heaven while Jesus was on earth dying and crying out to Jesus in heaven.

for the record- i do not believe in 3 gods. one god that is beyond human understanding. 3 persons or parts to him.
I have an earthly body that has a spirit. that makes two seperate parts of me. so is it too harrd to believe that God can make himself into 3 parts/people.

Trinitarians do not believe in three GOD's, they believe that God is much more complex than humans, in that "He" can have fellowship within the godhead. Fact is, God is not human, therefore our ability to define "him" is lacking at best. Which is great, "He" is incomparable, and "past finding out..." God is greater than all our definitions!!! "He" is beyond us...! Yet, has revealed his attitudes, his nature, and his LOVE thru, the man Jesus Christ!!! I fellowship with folks that were raised "trinitarian" and as they have pursued God, and relationship with Jesus, their hearts, attitudes and lives are definitively Christian!! So, I defend them from your vile attacks and marginalizations!!!! They have taken on the "name" in faith and in truth, not just thru some formulistic pronunciation of another!
Of course, just because they call that fellowship "persons of God" instead of "manifestations of God" they are not Christians, and further they are lost and going to burn in literal fire endlessly. SE, even equals this opinion equal to homosexually, therefore needlessly offending two people groups. And prides himself in speaking of God in these matters. Show me this attitude in Jesus, anywhere in the Gospels????
Of course, OP's, can have all kinds of varying opinions and doctrines, fuss and argue among themselves, and still be acceptable to God, or not.
Who really is lost? Not condemned to endless fire, just lost??

I don't believe that you believe in three Gods, but Trinitarianism taken it it's conclusion does result in polytheism, IMO. Just as oneness theology taken to it's conclusion results in two Jesus'. Both theological viewpoints fall back on God having multiple personalities interacting with each other as if they're separate persons, loving each other, one praying to the other, one a Father, the other a Son, one atointing the other, both dwelling within each other, ect. Both theological viewpoints fall back on God simply interacting with Himself with each personality acting as if it's God relating to other personalities within Himself but it's really one God who shares Himself with Himself.

That goes both ways. There are people who are Oneness that don't understand what they believe.
