Re: Another Story Where "Christians" Bring Shame

I've sinned in my mind Lord. Forgive me. I will try my hardest never to murder a woman in my mind again.

In my early single days more than one person tried setting me up with someone like this. Beware of the phrase "She has a nice personality!".

Beware!

Funny thing is is that for many years I had a good friend who was 5'0 and over 400 lbs. She was HUGE! But since no body tried to set me up with her I became VERY good friends and love her to this day -just not physically.

Big people are the easiest friends to please. Buy us a snickers and we'll love you for life.

I did better. I took her on a date to a Manheim Steamroller concert.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
