Your unbelief will not make the faith of God without effect - God forbid - let every man be a LIAR and let God be truth! Romans 3:3-4
Why get on this "Apostolic" Christian Forum and tear down the miraculous? You need a check up from the neck up!
MIRACLES HAPPEN TODAY!
The problem might be your DOUBT and UNBELIEF or where you go to Church! Where I go - we see Miracles and have testimonies of MIRACLES every service! Now - THAT'S APOSTOLIC!

Miracles do happen. However, "miracles" are not always from God therefore making them a foundation for faith and belief is serious error. The main thing is the person of JESUS CHRIST and the GOSPEL of what he has done. Something I'm not seeing anyone in the miracle craze focus on.
Jesus is...
My Election
My Destiny
My Atonement
My Propitiation
My Regeneration
My Faith
My Justification
My Santification
My Perseverance
My Glorification Most don't have a clue what all of those doctrines mean or how they are appropriated in our Christian lives. However, they run around seeking to see some new "miracle" (often Satanic in origin) for validation and identity.
Miracles do happen. They can be good. But don't ever let them take your eyes from the person and work of Jesus Christ.

And sometimes "a miracle will happen everyday" but should never be the basis for doctrine.

Love you, Bro. I hope you know that. I also believe that miracles happen today and, as another has already pointed out, the "source" of the miracle isn't always godly nor following Christ.
We must use discernment. And, asking for proof of extravagant claims isn't always a sign of doubt or skepticism. Sometimes it does reign in some folks who may have been acting irresponsibly.
Now, I'm not saying that this particular guy was "acting irresponsibly." I can't even make out most of the audio. It's just that when someone makes a claim it is only fair that others be allowed to ask questions about the claim.

JA also seems to prophecy much about people receiving personal gain. Not to say that God doesn't bless people with material things, but I'm not sure prophecies of personal gain are in line with the scriptures for the gift of prophecy. Prophecy is for edification of the church.

I guess if he had said there would be three funerals by this specific time, no more and no less, I would be impressed. But just to say "there will be One.... Two.... THREE funerals! Maaawwww hawwww hawwww hawww<lighting flash>" is a bit ridicules since anyone other than those taken by such a word of knowledge can see the big logical hole in it.

I am tired of pronouncements of a myriad of instantaneous "healings" while my two quadriplegic friends are conveniently passed over in favor of those with sore muscles and practice of psychosomatic medicine on others. Since proclamation of deliverance is a core tenant of the "healing" event, the actual proclamation or claim of healing often does not resemble reality.
I do not believe this is what Jesus practiced in the Gospels, nor what occurred with the Apostles in the book of Acts.
|
don't get me wrong, I am not against verifying healing. I think it is wise to verify those things. It just isn't my place to question someone when they tell me GOD HEALED ME. If they can tell me honestly that God healed them then I will believe with them and thank God for the healing they are claiming.

Agreed....unless the pastor would happen to die first he will eventually preach 3 funerals.

This comment is a good example of why prophecies of this nature are not edifying...it makes people question.
As for the 3....one was of old age and to be expected. The other two not expected. Even so, I prefer to think they were right with the lord....all good people!

Re: Is this Apostolic?
People ALWAYS think they have a word from the Lord for me, or that they know the Lord's will for my life.
I just politely smile. I have had very few words that were authentic, but probably more than most people that I know.
