You tell 'em Sandie. God, IMO, isn't so arbitrary that he sends judgement upon the innocent for the actions of the guilty. He saved Noah and his family from the flood. Delivered Lot from Sodom before the judgement.
There is far more to Gods understanding than ours. Did you read the story about David numbering the people? There were actually 4 layers to that story. God, satan, David and the people.

David believed that the people were innocent sheep. Yet Gods ultimate goal was to punish THEM.

I don't think God HAS to decide "hmmm., Im gonna wipe Joplin out because of that adultery down there"...God cursed the planet a long long time ago and storms are a by product of that

warning shots really?

who is Gods people israel or the church? Did not he turn to the gentiles to provoke the jews to jealousy?

Im not understanding the Logic?

God uses america to help feed and rebuild haiti, japan, and give out billions of dollars each year to foreign aid. Not counting the donations from churches that go to local missions, or persecuted churches abroad.

The medical aid clothes and substance to millions of people each year through the missions efforts of many denominations.

This country is greatly blessed because of God, even the poor are considered rich to third world countries. God has His hands in america, and He is bringing the good out of it for His purpose

I think this is sorta a sick perspective you and your pastor has and im not afraid to say it.

It was not just Joplin Mo. that was hit. In the article Joseph Farah points out it was a wide outbreak of tornados.

So what was America being punished for in 1936? Or 1953?

Then we better all start to duck, who knows when and where the next series of "warning shots" will take place?
Do you know when God will be thru sending them?

And of all the reasons He chooses is because someone who cannot possibly make it happen, wants Israel to go back to 1967 borders.

Doesn't the Word say judgement starts in the house of God?

I'm puzzled why you can't see where this kind of thinking leads? And the kind of damage it does.
The family who lost their two baby boys would be made to carry an un-thinkable burden to learn they paid the price for what Obama said in a speech.
God isn't like that, Michael. I hope you will re-consider this line of thinking and at least, perhaps not spred it elsewhere.
Think of the people whose lives have been turned upside down and are grieving beyond belief. People who have lost everything and have no idea they paid a price for a president's speech.

Pray for that family who lost their two, innocent, darling little boys. They will need help to learn how to breath again.

Jesus called these things the beginning of sorrows. Birth pangs.

1:4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.
1:5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
1:6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him. Nahum 1:3-6

So these so called NATURAL DISASTERS God takes credit for. He uses them as intstruments of his wrath. Sure they always will be occuring. But they will always be a reminder to men there is a God in Heaven who has power over all things.
