Brother Allen employed no tricks. I knew him too well. A trickster would not spend nights in prayer. A trickster will not deny himself the way that he did. A trickster is not going to go many days without a bite of food while recalling the words of Jesus, "...this kind cometh not forth except by prayer and fasting."

One of the greatest books that I've ever read was written by him through his own personal experiences, "The Price of God's Miracle Working Power." He paid the price. It was not a cheap price. His whole life and blood was in the work of God. Yet, it is so easy for those who have neither chip or tear invested to tell the rest of us who were there in meetings without number how it was all a big trick.

Amazing, indeed. Wonder how many meetings the critics attended. How many all night prayer meetings have the critics spent in prayer with him? How many of these critics watched as hot salty tears dripped off his face as he was moved with compassion for the hurting? How many of these critics can cast out screaming devils and watch as God fills them with the Holy Ghost, speaking in tongues? How many fault finders who can tell us how he operated his tricks can also cause the blind to see, the deaf to hear and cancer to disappear. If the critics can do that by a trick and are NOT doing it, they deserve to go to jail for denying relief of the suffering multitudes. They need to start doing the same tricks. The world is waiting. Nay, it is not by a trick, not by might, nor yet by power, but by MY Spirit, saith the Lord.

I did not approve of everything Allen did or said. SO WHAT? There are a lot of people that does not approve of everything you and I might say or do. BIG DEAL. Just keep doing the works of God, if you are doing them at all. If not, it is time to also pay the price as did Allen and others. Salvation is free but there are some things that are not. You don't have to fast many days to be saved but if you are going to cast out devils and do the mighty works of God, you will go days without number in both fasting and nights of prayer. I assure you.

Further, it is unfair to jump on the S.F. Coroner's autopsy report as to cause of death being a liver disease, to automatically assume it was due to acute alcoholism as so many of his enemies have done.

As AB said, the world hates the ministry, and even some 'believers' hate the ministry, especially when the ministry does not fit into what their mold says. God uses whom He wants how He wants.

AA Allen was a man of faith and God used him mightily. I will leave it as that. The nonsense, the attacks on his person, the hatred against him, I simply ignore. Stories and lies like this should be ignored in the light of how the Lord did use the man.

Bill, what proof do you have that the autopsy was "forged"?

Well, I regret starting this thread, but I shouldn't have expected anything different. There will always be those who support Bro. Allen and those who do not. I suppose everyone is entitled to their opinions. As for me, I simply do not know. I do know Bro. Allen's ministry was what brought me to the Lord. He had already died before I ever heard of him. He died in June and I attended a Don Stewart meeting in November. But it was "Miracle Magazine", Bro. Allens books, and his recordings that "fanned the flames of revival" in my soul. I can remember finding some of his tracts scattered on the ground. They were food to my soul.

But now, as a grow older and sadly, a little more cynical, I wonder. Could all those miracles reported in Miracle Magaziine be true? Could much of what was reported been mere "evangelistic speak?" Were those recordings actual miracles or staged stunts to woo the gulible? And lastly, did Bro. Allen relapse into alcohol abuse?

I simply do not know. All I know is that it was t Bro. A.A. Allen was a tremendous influence on this young Christian back in the 70's. If God used Bro. Allen to perform no other miracle other than to bring me to the Lord, thats enough for me to say "Thank God for Evangelist A.A. Allen".

I read somewhere (will try to find it) that the medical examiner later admitted to falsifying the autopsy report. But again, this in and of itself may be some supporters way of trying to defend Bro. Allens legacy. I simply don't know. So, I'll just give the man his due by saying, "I thank God for Evangelist A. A. Allen".

I have several of his books, including "The Price of God's Miracle Working Power" and his life story, "My Cross". I have a few Miracle Magaines (actual copies), some photo-stat copies and some (including the first edition of MM) on CD. I have one video of Bro. Allen and a recording of his message "God is a Killer". Always looking for more! I even have a piece of one of his tents that was cut up and sent out as prayer cloths.

I just went to wickedpedia and looked up A. A. Allen.

That was the most grotesque and distorted portrayal of facts that I've ever read anywhere. One lie right after another. This was obviously written by an enemy or written by someone who was never acquainted with the ministry personally. I personally know for a positive fact that some of the things said there are lies.

Anyone who has any interest in working the works of Jesus Christ should read that book. I still have my copy that I spend a dollar to purchase back in the mid 1950s. It will create a great hunger in your soul to get up and pay the price.

You can add your knowledge of Allen on wikipedia. That is what it is for. And you can remove what others have written.

As to his demise, until anyone proves that the autopsy report was false you have no rational reason to believe otherwise.

I believe that God heals I just don't believe He uses a side-show to do it.

If someone genuinely had a leg that needed lengthening, I only wonder what difference one would see to know it was genuine if it was healed.

Where are all the people who grew limbs? I'm sure some must of come to his meetings. Where are the dead he raised? How is it that there is nothing that is a real incontestable miracle?
