You see my opinion is that most every Christian and Church does teach ALL of his commandments. So when I see you constantly rant and rave about them then I'm wondering which commandments aren't being kept that provoke you to post about this all the time. So since you are a true disciple of Jesus then help us out and tell us what ALL his commandments are so that we may judge in ourselves whether we keep them or not.

Ranting and raving? I would look at it like Im just trying to keep the light of truth alive. Frankly I hear almost no discussion or teaching about the commandments of Jesus except by those who promote the law of Moses.

Perhaps more of them are being kept than what Im aware of. All I can go by is the frequency I hear a topic discussed and whats being said. The drift of what I do hear is usually that one need not keep commandments as that Jesus did it all.

My intention is not to spell out every single commandment but rather to make people aware of the importance of obedience to the teachings of Jesus.

If you are walking faithful to his words good for you. My agenda is to present every man perfect in Christ. That is the purpose for ministry.

Re: Jesus And His Commandments

I believe the Ten Commandments express the holiness of God and embody God's desire for the way we live. I see them broken down like this...

Love the Lord your God with all your being:
I
Thou shalt have no other gods before Me
II
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image
III
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord
thy God in vain, for the Lord will not
hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain
IV
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy

The second is like unto it...

Love your neighbor as yourself:
V
Honor thy father and thy mother,
that thy days may be long upon the land
which the Lord thy God giveth thee
VI
Thou shalt not murder
VII
Thou shalt not commit adultery
VIII
Thou shalt not steal
IX
Thou shalt not bear false witness
against thy neighbor
X
Thou shalt not covet

Christ's teaching on the Mount presents the core of the Christian ethos:

Matthew
5:3-12 - The Beatitudes
5:13-16 - Salt and Light
5:17-20 - Jesus fulfilled the Law
5:21-26 - Anger and Murder
5:27-30 - Lust and Adultery
5:31-32 - Divorce and Remarriage
5:33-37 - Oaths
5:38-42 - Eye for an Eye
5:43-48 - Love your enemies
6:1-4 - Give to the Needy
6:5-15 - How to Pray
6:16-18 - How to Fast
6:19-24 - Treasures in Heaven
6:25-34 - Do not worry
7:1-6 - Do not judge hypocritically
7:7-12 - Ask, Seek, Knock
7:13-14 - The Narrow Gate
7:15-23 - False Prophets
7:24-27 - The Wise Builder

That's the entire practice of our faith as a whole. None of the above invalidates the role of faith, repentance, baptism, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost with regards to initial salvation.

If we love Him, we will desire to obey His commandments.

Thoughts?

Yes that is the basics. Then other instructions can be found in the writings of the Apostles.

The Sabbath commandment should be viewed from the perspective of Acts 15 IMO.

Great posts.

While these natural commandments were given to a natural people who were to possess a natural land as a natural kingdom, these same commandments are also spiritual according to Paul in Romans. They become spiritual when a spiritual people possessing a spiritual kingdom are able to perceive them spiritually.

If I were to destroy a preacher's influence to cause an unsaved man to turn away from salvation because a diminished estimation of the man's reputation, I have, in a spiritual both stolen the preacher's influence and also caused a soul to die the eternal death. Each of the natural laws that the Jews perceived naturally must also be perceived by us in the spiritual sense too.
