Deadeye trots out this example every time he perceives someone is attacking dress standards. Or referencing what other pastor's wives are dressed like.
Thanks - yes, that's it Berk.
You either dress like his daughters or streewalkers - - no were in the middle of being just modest.

There are a lot of pastors' wives and daughters who fit in with culture pretty well. I'm always amazed at the number of women with obviously trimmed/layered hair, who wear light makeup, and I know their husbands and fathers preach against both.
Are they blind? Or do they have a double standard for their families? Do they look at their own pictures from conferences and think, how is it that those other women look kind of frumpy, but my daughter looks like Angelina Jolie?

LOL.....exactly! The double standard that they refuse to acknowledge.

we had a youth rallie last month, and it was more of a fashion show, i felt so under dress in kakhi pants, my wife had a blue jean skirt, we were relaxed some what on a friday,
the dresses were nice, to nice infact, it boarderd the im showing off, look at me type dresses. some of the men were the same way. Last time i seen a white suite was when i saw benny hen on T.V in one.
so i think some of are church culture has gotten out of hand. or mayber it is just me being to plain.
It is not you being to plain. Large gathering of UPC'ers have always been about the fashions (and who can get the most intricate hair style among the ladies of the evening, errrrr, I mean the ladies in attendance).
Maybe that's not but very very similar things were said.
I think it's from NCIS.

It is usually a very insecure person that will try to dress like a hooker. You see this more in teenagers and young adults that haven't grown up yet. Most people I know that are "of the world" will not bare their midriff or wear mini skirts and I think it is because of the age group I am in (late 20's).
It all boils down to how much you value yourself as a person, and how you want yourself presented to the world. 90% of the women I know are aware of this and dress accordingly.
When it comes to listening to things like Britney Spears or Lady Gaga, who really listens to that stuff besides children or gay men?
