I sincerely am puzzled at this.

I've shook my head at DKB's spouting the party line over the years, but I never pooh-poohed his education.

If you get a BA in math from Rice, and a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law--the 13th ranked law school in the country--then friend, you are a heavyweight academically.

So yes, it's regrettable that he feels to get theology "doctorates" from some degree mill.

So I would hold off on the accusation that DKB took no classes.

Also, I may be wrong, but it seems to me that some of these schools allow self study and the faculty suggest study guides so the thesis in a topic is way of testing. Im not so sure that should be viewed as bad. Hey, I self studied computers. I could possibly go take the a+ exam and pass proving I learned what I needed to know.

True, not close as far as degrees go, but I don't know for sure this places just passes out masters like candy. They have an undergraduate program with classes/topics they need to take

I was checking out a program I may start next fall and it would require me to have 3 years worth of full time classes before starting the dissertation.

What a deal!!! I am so glad I found this place. I haven't found their tuition yet but I am sure it will be better than what I was looking at.

There would be no class time necessarily with distance learning. You are assigned subjects and materials and it's essentially self study. Then someone tests your knowledge

Until that is real clear, I will assume that is not the case - in spite of Barons assertion that all one needs to do is "write a paper" to get a degree.
