I agree - however I also think that falsely accusing people of doing this is at least as distasteful, if not more so. (I know, you haven't done so, but others have in the past).

This kind of stuff was brought up on AFF years ago by one particular poster whose word we all were assured we "could take to the bank!" Yet, even that poster could not provide any evidence of such an activity ever taking place.

I've seen some pretty crazy things in my time, and I'm not about to exclude the possibility of this particular one. I'd just like to see some examples - or at least a single example - before I shake my head at the wonder of it all.

Thus, if "going charismatic" isn't what its detractors say it really is - then perhaps the dilemma you have humorously posed isn't truly a dilemma at all.

What if we just "went Biblical" and dropped all of the man-made "revelations" that we have attached to our religious experience? I think that would would makes us all "relevant" in the most compelling way of all.
I agree wholeheartedly.

I agree with you as well. I remember when the accusations started and when they were refuted. A friend of mine on here was accused of it. I have heard about Steve Munsey having a Mary Kay person come in and teach how to wear make up and on and on the list goes. Those accusations were never confirmed so far as I know. I know that the PAW church in Detroit, Bishop Ellis' church, his wife is an executive or something with Mary Kay so maybe she helped that church out. Who knows. All I can say is that NOTHING surprises me anymore.

That's what I thought at first too. Others have posted contrary reports. Maybe that first inclination was the correct one?

I think so Pel.

Re: Join: Liberation Services & Hair Cutting Parti

I dun remember where the party took place, other than it was in one of the hick states.

The wife sat on the altar. The pastor pulled out a set of shiney new scissors. He raised them to the air and the scissors sparkled as the light hit them... Then "chop". The hair fell to the floor. And the wife got up and screamed "I'm free... I'm free" and she shockamoo'd.
I don't know what or how it really went down. That is the version that I am familiar with.
