Re: How do pastor's worship?

I think most pastors probably do seriously want exuberant worship and praise going on in the churches.

Llikewise most probably do not want total abandon shockamoo for everyone.

there is a thought among some that a total fit of losing it is needed to break some lifestyle habits or to encourage those that may otherwise need it. But I don't think many want that for the general populace. They will tolerate it in lieu of having the opposite and their fear of a "dead, dry" church.

Me? I enjoy heartfelt exuberance as much as anyone, but I would caution anyone against seeking or desiring an OBE.

If I was after a buzz I would hit Starbucks for a tripleshot on ice.

I am convinced some truly are addicted to trippin out at church. When a greater thrill is offered them, then what?

Sometimes people run. Sometimes people jump. Nobody shakes themselves, let alone to the ground. Yes sometimes he runs or jumps

Re: How do pastor's worship?

I find it interesting that the subject of HOW we worship is such a huge topic at many church services...

Seems if it were a natural outflow of the spirit and heart, there would be very little need of instruction, pushing or prodding.

IMHO when there is pumping and prodding, things seem to be taken down a few notches and it immediately calls the activities and the motives into question.

Our church is officially a shockamoo-free zone for all, including me. Hoovie do you or have you ever shockamooed?

Well, we head-bang a little bit.

For me, Headbanging and Shockamoo is similar. My slight indulgence in both were not really a desirable experience!

Nooooooo, no, no, no, no, no, no....they are NOT similar, my friend. One of them serves a purpose, the other DOES NOT.

Here, my good friend, is head-banging:

Watch the lead singer (Dave Grohl) at 3:20. Now THAT is head-banging.
