Ya, I would ask her father before I would ask anyone's pastor for "permission" to ask someone out. And only THEN as a courtesy IF she is younger and he is a big part of her life AND EVEN THEN, only if I were to plan on asking her to marry me. (This whole 'ask permission to ask someone out' irks me...)

Basically, other then a very specific circumstance (of a nice tradition of asking a woman's father for her hand in marriage), I would simply ask her -since she is the decision maker in such things.

My opinion is many Apostolic churches put too much emphasis on being baptized and speaking in tongues and not enough emphasis on repenting.

My personal experience for years has been that not only is there not enough emphasis on repentance but the act is purposefully shoved aside, probably because it is not "showy" nor lead to emotionalism within the congregation (and we ALL know that a service without overt emotionalism is a dead service).

Can one truly speak in tongues without repenting?

Does repentance mean that the sinner's sin addiction is gone immediately, at the moment of confession, water baptism, or Spirit baptism?

Interesting.

So a demon possessed man can speak in tongues.

Can a demon possessed man repent?

I have to disagree with you.

In order for a soul to repent, that soul has to cognizantly realize that they are indeed lost and has to decide to live right, to honor God with their lives by abstaining from sin.

By definition, a demon possessed man is not in total control of his thoughts and actions, making repentance impossible.

But yes, you are right and I find it enlightening to realize that although a demon possessed man can not repent, a demon possessed man can speak in tongues.
