Psalm 119:9-19
9Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

10With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.

11Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

12Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.

13With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.

14I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.

15I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.

16I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

17Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word.

18Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.

19I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.

How can we keep his commandments and KNOW HIS WILL......Lest we know the WORD?

1 Corinthians 2:10-12

10But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

11For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

JUST MAYBE.......some don't "understand" the Bible because they don't have THE HOLY GHOST?

Just a thought...........

So, did you vote Yes? (I'm not as good as some people at reading between the lines , but I will go out on a limb and say that you have THE HOLY GHOST, and therefore do understand the Bible? )

How about miracles? Are they important? Is it important to know whether God will do things for you?

Is John 14:14 clear?

Re: Is the Bible clear?

It is a distorted mirror in which we get glimses of it truths. "...we see thru a darkened glass...but then we will see clearly..."

So I voted "NO", for if it was clear there would not be so many opinions about what it actually is saying, and what it means for us today.

By study and prayer, we can find His paths and walk in them.

Interesting, though, that both methods lead different people to wildly different paths.

Re: Is the Bible clear?

Vast cultural and linguistic gaps aside, the Bible is much clearer than we have made it, IMO.

Re: Is the Bible clear?

I just realized what the other side really meant when saying it wasn't the bible that was not clear it was humans. I think what they really mean is that the bible is the clearest book that God could have given mankind but even with the clearest book that he could have given we as men still can't understand it.
