Yes. Gospel choir is still very popular and their are some great ground-breaking singers and musicians in that genre. I do like this choir here and I'm sure that all those who are members of the choir are very excited about being involved...and I think that therein lies one of the great benefits of a choir.

I thought they were pretty awesome. I've been sending the link to those I go to church with. lol I have listened to it several times. I am a big fan of choir music if they are good. This choir is good, and so is St.Marks. I've sang and even recorded with a few choirs. I enjoy it.
I attend a predominately black congregation and I am more of fan of the choir music than they are. I am all the time telling those I go to church with they are too "white" they sing more of the praise and worship stuff you find in most churches today...its good, but I still like the choir stuff... my pastor used to be the organist for Grace Apostolic (under Bishop Golder) and he is flat out awesome musician.. They listen to contemporary Christian, and I listen to the black gospel....what a switcharoo it is..
They have left "traditions" and some music traditions was part of it... they asked me to sing Easter Sunday and I chose to sing "The Blood" and took them all back to yesteryear... the anointing was so strong I don't hardly remember singing cause I was shaking under the power. They got with it though.

I LOVE choir music--fun to listen to, fun to sing in, and fun to direct. Choir music covers lots of different styles of music, too--it isn't all black gospel, although that's my favorite.
Lots of secular singers use choirs from time to time, especially for special live productions, and classical (sacred) music utilizes a lot of choral/choir vocals.

It is so obvious when a singer is anointed in this way. What a blessing such a song brings. How blessed you are to be so used of God.

I really would like to suggest a preaching contest to go with the choir contest. I wonder who would win. After that, the dance in the spirit contest to see who can shout their hair down first, followed by the "who can run around the building the fastest" contest. The sprint will be at a little church and the marathon at a big church. the grand finale would be who can watch the most tv in a hotel room contest.

Trouble, do you participate in sports? let your children participate in sports? a spelling bee?
What do you find so offensive about a choir singing contest?

All glory goes to God for the great things he has done. I am living proof that you can go to a church that IS Apostolic (and UPCI) keep outward and inward standards and be a witness to those that dont know the TRUTH! Because of us allowing God to use us, revival has broken out over America (I know this to be true from the testimonies that are coming in). God promised us as a choir miracles, signs and wonders and I can say without a doubt each promise has been and is continuing to be fulfilled!
Continue to pray for us as we hold up the Oneness banner of Our Lord Jesus Christ. And now I must rest as it was a verrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyy long weekend.
(video footage to come soon).
I know some people who attended this event, and it was wonderful!!
