Re: RS Elected Pastor of New Life Church

Great post, Johnny. Thanks for sharing! A lot of the surmising about the general election and related events was just plain silly, and some of it was mean spirited.

It's always easier to think badly of someone from a distance.

Conspiracies exist, but they are not as prevalent as the conspiracy theorists would have us believe. Mostly, people are just people, everywhere you go.

Good grief, isn't that the truth! I have been flabbergasted by some of the stuff I have heard and have read regarding all of this, you would think some of these men sit in dark rooms rubbing their hands together as they devise Machiavellian plots, while chuckling evily...

I am not the champion of the UPC, in fact, regardless of what people may think, it doesn't really affect my life at all, except when affecting the workload or schedule of family members. I have no vested interest in the org. and I have no strong ties to it, other than long time friendships. I rarely go to district events and haven't been to a GC in about 20 years.

Do I think it has flaws? Undoubtedly, it has human beings in it and as I have often heard, people are pitiful. Do I feel like some of the people involved in the UPC have ulterior motives in some of their actions? I would be surprised if that wasn't the case, I would be surprised if that wasn't the case in every organization on the planet, religious or otherwise.

Do I think there was some spooky, back room machinations involved in this election? Sorry, I just think that is sooooo over the top. I think some people are looking for conspiracy everywhere, and it makes me suspicious about what is in THEIR hearts...
