I don't offer it to receive, I offer it because I have received!

My pastor doesn’t yell, scream or anything, it isn’t his nature. He will tell you it isn’t his style. He does speak up and is passionate about what he is treaching…can be animated in his actions. I enjoy his ministry and learn a lot. =)

His teaching on Wed is open forum and he actually wants the opinions and involvement of the people, which I think is the bomb… cause I can actually be vocal at times. lol

I've never known a Pastor to do this, but what a great idea for Wed. night Bible Study.

Re: Annointed apostolic screaming...I mean preachi

The whole "you gotta be screamin to be annointed" thing was one of the reasons I had stopped preaching...I felt ineffective because I WASNT screaming or didnt FEEL like screaming...instead of delivering the Word that God had given I let the lack of the audiences response discourage me..I was pulled aside and told to be more "Evangelistic"When I first started preaching I was mostly teaching...delivering the word God gave me...I have since started preaching again and trying to just preach with blinders on so to speak and not let a lack of response discourage me.To me the "He is screaming therefore is annointed" needs to die and die quick...I am all for annointed preaching but God doesnt have to hype anyone up.The Word needs to be delivered without fear or favor.Think about this..the apostles and disciples preached to crowds that wanted to and did do them bodily harm and I promise u the people listening were not running up and shining their shoes and pounding on the communion table screaming preach preacher preach....we need to preach with a steadfast conviction no matter WHAT our audiences response is.We have created a culture that has turned preaching into a technique to be learned instead of a calling that is recieved of God...Some Were Called...Some Were Sent...Some Just Got Up And Went. I am not against training but whe you witness do you witness for a response?Do we scream and yell and breathe in tempo?Or are we so caught up in preaching have we forgotten how to witness?

All goofy. Voice projection can happen with intent if you are making a point, can happen because you are getting excited about something, or it's your oratory style. MLK Jr had his own style. Jonathan Edwards had is. To each his own. It's silly to call the style the anointing though. Just absurd. The message is what becomes anointed into the believers ears. Anointing is not when you feel good either, it's when something has been revealed, you feel empowered, you saw something you didn't before, you feel encouraged, uplifted and strengthened. That's anointed speaking.

And a very good one at that.

While at the same time, many preachers fear those in the pew thinking that way, so they scream. I think its a a common apostolic misconception in "our day".
Does anyone out there attend an assembly that does not have any screaming at all, or atleast is very uncommon, in the weekly preaching?
The "guests" often make a mess of the microphone windscreens, but the "week to week" stuff is done with a bit of intelligence and understanding. Though, I've been working Sundays for the past few years.

In Bible school they used to say, "If you can't get anointed get excited!"

Whatever. How about "get educated" and "get some sort of empathy for the people you're supposed to be trying to reach?"

It is pretty awesome. There have been several Wed evenings that in discussing scriptures and what God has shown me and then what God has shown others... going back and forth in the scriptures, the presence of God was in the house. It is a great way of learning.
