I used to be amazed when I would hear stories about preachers who had a hard time making it to conference services because they couldn't pry themselves away from the television!

One of these pastor's sons was telling me about his dad ..... he loved westerns and when he got to a motel the first thing he did was turn the tv on and look for the movie channel.

It's quite the novelty for some who never have had one in the home. When you grow up with it it doesn't have that kind of fascination for you I guess.

I can't remember ever ever missing any kind of church event or service, whether my own home church or other district events or conferences, campmeeting, etc.

That includes Wed. nite Bible studies and prayer meetings, outreach, etc. Television never ruled our life or our home.

I was always jealous of my pastor's kids friends that got to watch tv in the motel room. I would go visit them in their motel room.

I'm sure. LOL!

I didn't grow up in a pastor's home. We had television from the time I was 6 so it was never a big deal.

I had a friend whose dad wasn't saved. They had a television, but she wouldn't watch it - no way! It was quite strongly preached against at that time and by that particular pastor. I was always amazed at how disciplined and conscientious she was about that because for me it was such a non-issue.

My wife was that way growing up.

Her whole family was undaved, and they took it very personal that she wouldn't watch tv with them.

her dad would make her stay in the living room, so she would turn her chair around a read a book.

It's difficult to vote when there are reasons one might not have a TV.

I can't vote because of the way the question was posed and with only two choices -- yes or no.

Not many for UPC licensed preachers, unless they are liars.

Members, well there are always unruly members. Paul spoke of them.
