Re: Offended
This is my two cents worth - it bothers you because you are a Christian and have morals.
It doesn't bother him because he's apparently NOT a Christian and is of the world.
It wouldn't bother me for someone to mention it to me because there are lots of things people do in the world that I wouldn't dream of doing, but that's my convictions - not theirs.

As for the sexy hair spray thing, I have no idea what you are talking about. That was eons ago and I posted little on that thread.

I can see where you may have misunderstood what I was saying on the massage issue, except that your last post didn't clarify that. It seemed to press the point. I'm not trying to argue with you. I just wanted to be clear on that.
Yes, the Sexy Hair Spray thread was a long time ago and I can't quote the exact exchange, so I will drop that one.
Anyway, hubby is home and I need to go. I hope that I haven't offended you, but you did ask.

I certainly wouldn't do it. Nor would I have the paintings in my house. But I do understand that it is accepted in artistic circles.
The Sistine Chapel ceiling, painted by Michelangelo, is full of nudes. Again, I'm not saying if that's wrong or right, I'm just saying it's "art". Everyone will have their own opinions about it. I honestly haven't completely made up my mind. I've read compelling arguments from both sides of the fence.
I do believe that it is different than porn.

Thanks, Renda. What I have trouble with is leaving the UPC. When I was in it, wearing skirts and all, everybody understands you are very conservative, but dressing like everyone else, I think I am not as shielded as I used to be and I get shocked by things. I also don't see things so black and white anymore. The shifting of some values causes me to question what I really believe sometimes.

And then there's that TALL statue of David.......
I like that period of art because the women weren't skinny minnies.....they were fluffy like me!

This is from that thread. I posted this:
Quote:
Sorry, PO, I guess I'm not sure what your point is or why a male [masseuse]would be your preference, but I trust that it is just that! I was not implying that you would be aroused, I was referring to your statement that a male althete was aroused by his coach massaging him.

Having said that, my point is that I have always been more comfortable with male doctors and therefore would, more than likely, feel more comfortable with a male giving a therapeutic massage. Nothing covert in my thoughts on the subject!
My point of bringing up the football player is that it skewed my husband's opinion as much as yours was skewed when you had your first examination by the male doctor who was rough on you and caused you to feel as though you had been violated.
Probably if I had approached the subject, from the beginning, in a more serious manner you wouldn't have misunderstood what I was saying. So, I take the fault as mine.
|
OK.
Seriously......I don't think there is any "blame" to be taken. Just a mix-up of who was saying what, when and why! If you want to see a male doctor, that's your business and I am not implying in any way that you are aroused by women!
|
I will state for the record that I have never once thought of you as gay or having gay inclinations. I am a little offended that you would think I would think that and/or that, having thought it was cleared up on the thread we were speaking of, that you bring it up yet again, thinking I have some sort of problem based on allegations that I think/thought you have gay inclinations. I am pretty floored by the statements. But, hopefully this has things cleared up.

I also believe it is different than porn. But, I wonder how wholesome it really is and.....how much of a boundary I should have up concerning men who tell me they used to pose in the nude!!

Nonsense! If it bothers you as a "Christian" it is because you think of it as a sexual and pornographic thing. I.o.w. you are the one with perverted ideas about it.
You need to repent.
People like you are in favour of long skirts....cause it could be something sexual/pornographic if one wears a short skirt, that's absurd!
Nude posing at art sessions is nothing sexual or pornographic.........
